  • Goal for March: 5 lbs. 3/1 179 3/8 3/15 3/22 3/29
  • Lost 3 in Feb. Hopefully will do better in March. Going for the 5 lb challenge again.
  • Feb 1st - 181 Feb 8th - 180.5 Feb 15th - 178 Feb 22nd - 178.8 : ( Feb 29th - I was feeling a little bit cocky last week with a 3 lb. loss. I didn't do my workouts so much this last week and the scale definitely reflected that by a .8 gain. Loss: 2.2 lbs. Back on track for next week.
  • @breadbar: WOW! Good for you! Gives me hope that I can achieve my goal. 5lbs. at a time.
  • Congrats to everybody on your weight loss for the week. And to those that stayed the same or gained....please don't give up. I was on a regimen of up & down on the lbs. for 3 weeks then BAM!! 3 lbs. gone! Stay on tracking your food. Get the workouts in so you can eat more! I love to eat so it's that much sweeter when I get…
  • Feb 1st - 181 Feb 8th - 180.5 Feb 15th - 178 Feb 22nd - Feb 29th - 3 lbs. so far....2 to go. Yay!!!
  • Goal Weight: 125 Only 55.5 lbs. to go!! Seems like a depressing number. That is why this Msg Board is helpful & encouraging for me. Breaking it up into increments of 5 lbs. per month doesn't seem as big a burden. Thank you everybody & good luck to you all!

  • I set this goal for myself Feb 1st. Then I found this challenge today. I haven't lost any weight for 3 weeks. Very frustrating! This morning 1/2 lb. Big woop...... 1/2 lb a week will not be 5 lbs.!! I am under calorie goal every day, workout 5-6 days a week. What else can I do to speed up the weight loss?
  • @conedoor: Welcome. May you have great success! Restaurant Salad Dressings....stay away!!! They are loaded with fat! Ask for oil & vinegar on the side instead. :) Ann
  • OK people....I just got out of the 180's today! Yippee! :drinker: My next goal is 4 lbs. Small goals keep me motivated. Ann Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Calorie Counter
  • @megglett: Be kind to yourself. You can do it! Track , track, track on MFP. That's my motivation. I like to exercise just to see how many more calories I can eat for that day! LOL! Make it a fun challenge. :flowerforyou: Ann Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Calorie Counter
  • @Middleofseven: Welcome! I agree with you on the caloric intake. I knew about the starvation mode but didn't realize that I was eating too little also! (and also the wrong things) I acutally hardly ever reach my calorie goal for the day and I'm never very hungry anymore! It's amazing isn't it? Thanks for sharing. Ann
  • May everyones day be filled with joy & blessings. :flowerforyou:
  • @barbiecat: Good for you for keeping it up even in this busy time!!
  • @barbiecat: I agree with the low/no carb diet. I posted about a week ago my daily low/no carb diet, which is the only way I can lose weight. Lost 22 lbs. in 3.5 months. Thanks for posting the "Keep Off Pounds" article.
  • @grandydancer: I also was addicted to carbs. My doctor told me that women our age (50's) tend to carry our weight abound our mid section. She said carbs is the culprit. So I stopped the carbs. Cold turkey. When I do eat them I do not lose any weight!! Therefore my motivation. My sugar content goes over when I eat fruit.…
  • @kathy50nye: Welcome! One day at a time. What helps me is tracking my food every day, every meal, every snack. Tracking my exercise motivates me because it shows me how many calories I've burned and that I can eat more!! I never seem to go over or even reach my calorie goal. I have MFP app on my phone too. So when I am out…
  • @debbiedoo: That's awesome!
  • Awww Natalie!! I'm so sorry your pool workout caused you more pain. I have a friend that had knee surgery and she is doing great!! My prayers are with you. ann
  • Welcome Lesliecs to the short people brigade! LOL. I too am 5'1/2" and have about 50 lbs. to lose. The MFP food & exercise tracker is the best thing ever. I have tried every sort of tracking and this one is it for me. Good luck with your journey.
  • @Mary Anne: Pre - Peri - Post....any menopause stage throws off our metabolism. I went to the gym for a year and lost no more than 5 lbs. I finally consulted my gyno and totally fit son. They both told me to lay of the carbs. Including fruit. I did just that and lost 20 lbs since Mar 28th of this year. When I think I can…
  • Sally: I know what you mean about the 1st thing we give up on a busy day is usually our exercise. I am guilty of that one. Please don't beat yourself up about it. Life sometimes gets in our way. Look at your success and how many times you went to the gym for the week. Next time a friend drops by, go for a walk while you…
  • @Natalie: I hope all goes well for you, your daughter and up & coming new grandchild. Good for you losing without excercising. I don't lose if I don't exercise. Lost 20 lbs. since Mar 28. I also swim and do water aerobics. Keep that up. I believe it will acutally help your knee and hip. I am in awe of how my aches & pains…
  • Been on a plateau for 3 weeks! It's a bit discouraging. But....I am going to look at my successes. Ran the 1 mile yesterday, rode my bike 10 miles on Wednesday. Swam for 1/2 hour on Thurs. Cleaned the house for 3.5 hours today without getting exhausted! I gotta say, my endurance has improved tremendously since beginning my…
  • Ran 1 mile this morn, nonstop. This is a 1st for me! I am the one that always said, "I don't run"! The times they are a changin'. Happy Birthday Barbie
  • Your quote is so true! I've been part of MFP since March 2011. I'm 54 yrs. old and have lost 20 lbs so far. My next goal is to reach 30 lbs. I'm hoping to reach this goal by August.
