  • I have always been... well, I should say since I was in 1st grade I have been "overweight". My parents indulgences in food became mine. And even when I knew I shouldn't be eating certain amounts of food; I dd. I am a food lover to the bone. And I do not like forced exercise. I enjoy hiking and going for walks, but relaxing…
  • I agree, the key is not to deprive yourself. I found that if I restrict myself to nothing but chicken breasts, veggies and fruit I go nuts and eventually lapse, pig out and quit. So now, I eat the food I love, but in moderation so I never feel deprived. And, I too, if I want a cookie will eat one, I just exercise a little…
  • Salads. Whole wheat bread on the smallest sandwich they have. Ditch the cheese and mayo or any cream sauce. If nothing else, just eat, mark your calories and do an extra brisk walk outside or what not to burn it off. That's what nice about MFP, it doesn't deprive you of anything, just makes you aware. If I eat a cookie…
  • Thanks for the support everyone.. I was having a really really bad day yesterday. Had a job fall through, wasn't seeing results and my husband is dropping pounds like it's nothing. Today will be a better day!

However, afterwards, when all the "air" the pump in is gone, you'll be hungry.…
  • This may be TMI, but: If I lose 100lbs I will let my husband leave the lights on (if you know what I mean)
  • I actually hurt my hip with Shape Ups. My Dr. advises against them unless you have some specially fitted by a professional.

  • My maiden name is Arbuckle... so I was called "airbubble" and "fatty Arbuckle" respectively. I got those nicknames when I was in 3rd grade.. people still say them, as if now that I'm older it's funny and not hurtful.
  • 3rd grade is when I became overweight and I knew it right away, kids would make fun of me, so it was hard to hide from. I've been called fat since I was 8 years old, even today 20 years later people still say it. I can't wait until that label can no longer be applied to me.
