Haha, people always say that about the supermarket, but the only people I meet there are nice old ladies who want to have a conversation about the ripeness of fruit!

Hmmm.. the difference is that condiments will come in all sorts of different caloric values. Salad dressing will be different than say, ketchup, or mayo (even light versions). If your talking seasoning as in spices or herbs, they will have very little calories at all. So really, you need to log everything (accurately) to…

What's a taste enhancer?

These are all excellent ideas!! I might try to add it to a stir fry, that sounds quite interesting.

Ugh fish sticks... I actually forgot I used to eat those. With McCain Superfries and ketchup. Also Swiss rolls/Wagon Wheels/Passion Flakies. Perhaps I'm spoiled by living in a city with a lot of bakeries now, but I definitely wouldn't buy these over something fresh. I never cared for pop tarts even as a kid, but I used to…

I bought some recently.. I shook it up in a protein shake but it turned out kind of chunky :(

There it is.

What I meant was that I applied the same method and mentality to quitting smoking as i did to drinking soda. Quitting an addictive behaviour.

Not everyone on this forum is interested in starting a scientific debate. If you want to goad someone into it, don't choose someone who is just looking for support on how to stop an unhealthy habit. OP, it's the same way I approached quitting smoking. It's bad for you, you know it's bad for you. Sometimes you drink it…

I used to drink a lot of pop, not even that I liked it that much but working in a restaurant it's free and it gets addictive. Personally I cut it out completely several years ago, when I did try it again I found it WAY too sweet. Now I only drink diet coke once in awhile.

I'm also afraid of waking up in the middle of the night and and being trapped inside the house on fire. It goes back to childhood with all these fire safety videos they used to make us watch on how to escape the house safely. Scared the crap out of me and I still worry about it.

I can't beleive I forgot to mention Pilsbury Pizza Pops. I would eat 2-3 after school as a snack. Also Spam, or Klik... or canned ham.

I used to have ripped up processed cheese in Campbell's chicken noodle soup. It melts and sticks to the bottom of the bowl... *gag*

Haha. My mom used to make a beef stew that was grey and tasted god awful. I hated it. My sister and I had a beef stew protest going on for quite awhile.

+1 for failure. It always comes down to failure.

My mom used to make a tuna casserole that was actually made on the stovetop and was just egg noodles, a can of cream of mushroom soup, a can of tuna, and frozen peas. I loved it as a kid but I honestly can't bring myself to make this now. I did try to make a better version using sauteed mushrooms and onion, cream, butter…

My dad as well. He's over 60 and has been single for almost 10 years now, barely dating! He's tried online dating but he has a hard time because apparently it's slim pickings... and also he is quite picky. According to him the ladies are always misrepresenting themselves and look much older or more overweight than they…

Cute!! I grew up with outdoor cats that came and went as they pleased. My cat now is indoor, I have considered taking him out on a leash but I'm afraid he will develop a liking for going outside and start to bolt for the door when I open it :\

Post pictures! The butter poach/sear sounds interesting and delicious too.

Agh, there's a lot... -A fresh loaf of bread-- I looove bakery bread but I live alone and I really, really want to eat it all before it goes stale in about a day or two. Also, its delicious. And the things I used it for are not healthy: Grilled cheese, french toast, egg salad sammies with lots of mayo, PB&J+banana+honey…

I mean, if you're concerned about it, a multi-vitamin certainly won't hurt. But you should be able to get all you need and more through your diet, especially at 2000cals.

I think it's difficult when you seek approval from people who will probably never give it. I have this problem with my Grandmother. When I saw her last Christmas she had no problem telling me how chubby I was looking and she has made many off hand negative comments about my weight in the past. So this year I was excited to…

If you know what will be around, pre-log the whole day including the treats you want to eat, then spread them out throughout the day. You will know what you are allowed and you won't go crazy trying to log all day. Also, save a few hundred cals or so and you will have a little wiggle room.

First world problems... Anyway I dislike Quality Street and would probably regift it or donate it. I'm sure there are many who could appreciate some sweets :)

You can do it, I look forward to your success story :)

Nachos, Flanders style?

Always a good idea to keep a thermometer in there.

The food is only unsafe if it was held above 4 degrees Celcius (or 40 degrees farenheit) for more than 4 hours. So if you kept the fridge closed and your fridge was quite cold to begin with, you're probably OK. Condiments and etc I'm sure are fine... do the sniff test. As far as the freezer, if it's partially defrosted,…

Definitely want to try this, I have done Insanity many time and I'm pretty tired of the original videos. If Santa doesn't bring it for me maybe I will buy in January!

Never. Although I did decide to give up rum and eggnog this year.... last year I drank enough to do me for two Christmases I think lol :)
