I would try a glass of milk. If not sweet enough, chocolate milk (make your own not the super sweet pre-mixed). Milk helps make you sleepy, protein to fill you up, the water hydrates you. It’s what I will quite often do for insomnia.

A hard boiled egg and some microwaved turkey sausage links is an easy breakfast to eat standing up while packing lunches. Add in a half grapefruit or apple slices for fiber.

I prefer my water with lots of ice and to drink it with a straw. I can easily suck down 4-6 cups of ice water at a meal.

Using margarine instead of butter in my peanut butter cookies will a) make them taste worse not better and b) not make them any healthier. It might kill my desire to eat them, so maybe that's the benefit?

I put things into containers with lids. I'm more likely to stop and "save some for later" when it's in a resealable container and I don't feel like it must be finished. Can you take a small ice chest? That opens up more options: yogurt, string cheese, berries, etc.

Eating "clean" doesn't have a set definition and doesn't relate to calories. It varies so much from person to person that it's meaningless. I could tell you I eat "clean" because a majority of our meat comes from hunting. Someone else could mean "clean" in that they avoid foods with ingredients they can't pronounce. If you…

I'm not a fan of WW. Actual calorie tracking is more useful than points. Are you also tracking here at all? If you make the switch, make sure you set your activity level to sedentary before adding on your workouts so you don't double count your calories. OTF calorie counts are pretty accurate. I do OTF and the difference…

This is why I don't do trainers and instead do OrangeTheory. All the benefits of having someone else design the workout and able to correct form and push me, none of the relationship *kitten* because there are 20+ other people in the room doing the same workout. Plus it costs less.

Have you looked into sportsbras that hold the HR monitor?
-
Fixed that for you.

"So why isn't @CarvedTones going to be at work today?" "Well right now he's on the floor wearing boxers, a pair of snow boots, and singing showtunes...Do you want him to come in?" "...so, sick it is."

All this discussion about maple syrup is making me want cornbread for breakfast.

You might want to improve your moisturizer. If you are washing more than you used to and you are sweating like crazy, your skin might be trying to compensate. My skin improved when I started using a heavier moisturizer at night.

I make a mug of rich hot chocolate. If I have time, from scratch on the stove, if I don’t I have some where I just add hot milk.

Just don't pick sourdough or pumpernickel for your bread and you're fine. Get some good peanut butter, go light on it because peanut butter gets messy when it gets hot & melty. Try strawberry preserves for your jelly. Cook it just like a grilled cheese sandwich. Goes great with a glass of milk and some potato chips.

Next you'll be telling me you've never had a peanut butter, honey, and cinnamon sandwich. More seriously, I grew up having grilled PB&J as a "feel better" food when sick and knew them as Teddy Bear Sandwiches. Not sure how they got that name. Edited to add: use quality peanut butter, preserves, and real butter. Cheap…

Well I do when I make a grilled peanut butter & jelly, just not on the same side of the bread. :)

When you can no longer see bread, that's 1 serving.

I log it as Circuit Training and use the calories from the workout summary email. In the notes section I put the type of workout and the number of splat points. So for example it might say "Orangetheory, Tornado Day, 22 splat".

Post your address, we'll come over and help you eat it.

I imagined the poster standing at the open fridge glaring at the food.

Have you ever had German chocolate rum cake? Just as yummy and lands you on your *kitten*.

The classes work very well for a wide range of health levels because you are only competing against your own heart rate and ability. I enjoy it a lot. It's more expensive then most gyms, but way less expensive than getting a personal trainer. My membership is running $159 a month for unlimited classes, you might save some…

I ate lots and lots of strawberries the other day and later thought I had some sort of tiny black parasite before I realized those were seeds. Gave myself a scare in the work bathroom. (sigh)

If my husband complained about my cooking at all I would suddenly start making meals for one. You don't like the meals, you cook for the family.

Check out the Griddler by Cuisinart. The plates come out and go into the dishwasher. It also lays flat so you can use both surfaces at once and they are reversible (one side grill, one side flat). Some models also take waffle plates (sold separately). I had the basic one in the past but now I have the Griddler Elite where…

I would highly recommend taking yoga classes at a studio (not a gym), even if you can only go once a week. I have learned so much in just a few months thanks to the instructors. They actively monitor your form and give you corrections/adjustments throughout class so you can understand how poses are supposed to feel and…

That's not a big piece. this is a big piece

@MikePfirrman When did you go visit? They recently rolled out an updated formula for the heart rate calculation (in the last month or so). From what I'm seeing on Reddit it brought it more in line with what people were seeing on their Garmins and other devices. Coaches ability will vary location to location, which is true…
