I do a big batch of something like soup or chili or even rice & beans on Sunday then pre-portion it into tupperwares. Throw one in my lunch box with an ice pack, a spoon, and a Greek yogurt &piece of fruit for a snack and off I go!

When I started making whey protein shakes, I was breaking out all over my face like it hadn't done since college. I figured out that my acne was caused by the milk I was using as the base of my shakes/drinks. A lot of dairy makes me break out! I switched to almond milk and not only did I cut almost 100 calories and fat…

Squats and lunges, babe. Squats. And lunges.

I was on 1lb/week in April at 1640 calories/day. Now I've set my goal to 1.5lb/week at 1380 (1400-ish is more realistic). I've been doing a strength…

I have a recipe that uses salsa verde in a white bean chicken chili. You can do Mexican rice bowls (rice, salsa, beans, avocado, chicken, whatever you like). Use it to top a burger, or better yet, mix it in with the meat and grill it up. Put it in a tortilla with scrambled eggs and some cheddar cheese for a breakfast…

I'm on it right now, and honestly, it doesn't seem to help with weight loss as much as it keeps me from being really sore after a heavy workout. I'm really only still on it because I spent the money, so I'm going to give it a full chance (take all of it) and see what happens. I probably won't do it again unless I decide…

I drink SO MUCH WATER while I'm on my period. I have nearly uncontrollable cravings as well, so during that week I make sure to keep junk OUT of the house and I exercise a lot more to ease the cramps and help reduce the cravings (or at least reduce the amount of time I could be spending shoving food in my face ;) ). Wine.…

Are you new to veganism? Are you balancing your macronutrients? Have you recently cut out high-sugar/processed foods or caffeine that used to be an integral part of your diet? Just some things to think about if you're feeling headachey and tired and sluggish.

@JShailen Great idea! I might have to do that next time, as well.

Check out BudgetBytes.com. There's a whole section dedicated to vegetarian/vegan recipes and you can adjust a lot of the other recipes to make them vegan/vegetarian. Plus, as a college student, the recipes will help you stretch your food budget. The recipes are easy and delicious, plus big enough for you to make multiple…

Take it easy and listen to your doctors. I hope it was just a dehydration-related event and that your heart is okay.

Keep your hands up while you're running (above your hip bones). Don't let them hang at your sides if you take break/walk. Keep elbows bent at 90* and keep that natural swing, and don't clench your fists. My coach called it the "chip grip": pretend like you're holding a potato chip between your thumb and first or middle…

I liked it a lot as a teen and in college. I went with my mom. It's just like any other gym, though...if you like it, go! If it fits your needs and your budget and you enjoy the workout and the atmosphere, go!

I like Jillian Michael's Cardio Kickbox, Shape Magazine pilates and abs, Tae Bo is still great ;) . I also bought the Workout dvd (from the TV show on Bravo) called One-on-One Training with Jackie. It's pretty good - there are three 20-minute sections; upper body, lower body, and abs. You can do all of them in any order…

I've had one for years and I like it. If it's been a while since I've used it, I can definitely feel the soreness in my abs the next day when I do get back to rolling. One of the handles just broke and I think it's time to let it go and maybe buy a new one, but seriously...I've had my ab roller since I was 16...holy crap,…

I am a fan of The Body Sculpting Bible for Women. There are three different 6-week lifting programs depending on the results you want and the equipment you have access to. I do it at home with just a bench and a set of dumbbells (I have them in 5lb increments up to 40lbs. It's a pretty sweet set up, I'm very proud ;) ),…

How long have you been at it? Real physical change that's noticeable takes a lot of time. I love heavy lifting, but it's going to take time to get the results you want. Keep at it, don't get too discouraged, and good luck!

@ralostaz2000 I served mine over brown rice, but couscous would be really great, too.

I'm 5'7" and, as of this morning, 170.9. I would love to be a strong, toned 160 or less, but I'd be happy with 160-162. I want THIS, but, y'know...with arms. Just as chiseled, though. ;)

I made mine spicy...I added dried ghost chili ;) You can completely cut out the red pepper flakes if you wanted to, but the smoked paprika is a MUST. It's not spicy, but it has SO much flavor.

I LOVE THIS ONE. budgetbytes.com/2012/10/tuna-white-bean-salad/ Budget Bytes is literally my favorite. Everything I've ever made using this site is super delicious and so easy. My husband makes this tuna salad at least once a week. Try it with the green onion. Delish.

I saw this article last year, and I think it may inspire you ;) huffingtonpost.co.uk/2015/12/11/obese-man-loses-weight-with-yoga_n_8781368.html I LOVE yoga. I got really attached to Bikram Yoga, which can be super pricey, but you can buy the audio guide and the book to practice at home. It's an incredible workout for the…

I made something called "No-oatmeal" a few years ago. The recipe went something like this: One egg, beaten one mashed banana a few tbsp of nut butter (almond or cashew works best, but I used apple butter, too, and it was delish) a dash of cinnamon or vanilla extract Mix it all up together, then microwave for 2 minutes.…

I always have beans on my list, especially if they're on sale (10 cans for $6 last week, WHAT?!), diced tomatoes, eggs, veggie burgers, fruit (red pears are my fave, and honeycrisp apples!, and white nectarines when they're in season), avocados when they're on sale (because that's when they're perfectly ripe!), and Light n…

In my experience, people don't notice until you hit the 20-25lb mark, depending on your starting size. At 10lbs down, it's BARELY noticeable even for ME! Give it time, and like someone previously said, let the folks around you know that you're open to talking about it. Tell them about the new top you bought, or how much…
