  • No swimming today as did another 3.5km yesterday. 3km of this was continuous but I was disappointed as this took almost 1 hour and 5 minutes which is 5 minutes slower that I had hoped for. Nevermind. Anyway, shoulder was a little sore overnight so decided on an extra sleep this morning so had a rest day.

  • My goals are similar to last year - 1) manage to swim 1-200m non-stop fly (25m is the current limit and then I need a long break 2) swim 365 miles - one for every day of the year (failed last year due to cracked sternum) and c) swim 5km in under 1 hour 40 mins (which is my current fastest time).

  • I generally swim for 45 mins to an hour and distance depends on whether I do any drills or not. At the weekend though, if I can I will do 2.5 to 3 miles.   • Shame on me - I forgot my goggles this morning so made use of the spa instead of swimming. That was a nice start to the day, but swimming is nicer.

  • Happy New Year everyone. Skipped New Years day (not hangover related, just laziness) but did a 2.75km swim yesterday and then today a 2.55km one. Nice empty pools so both swims were of the long lazy crawl type, but both were still under the hour mark.

  • Well done on your mile girls with curls. Missed yesterday due to not sleeping. Back in the pool this morning doing mix back, breast and free. I find doing that gets my heart rate up much more due to the changing strokes and muscle group use so I think I will keep this up for a bit longer.

  • Back in the pool after a three day break. 400m crawl, 800m mixed kicks and drills (with fins), 10x40m sprints, 200m crawl down and then 200m slow breast stroke to finish off.
  • Not so sore this morning so did 400m crawl, then 1km mixed kicks with fins, then another 400m crawl. I finally feel like I am getting better!
