Way to go msarro! 33 minutes is nothing to be upset about. That is a very good time. Way to go!

Good morning:flowerforyou: Maintenance run for me today, 5K. It rained this morning so it was cloudy here. Great weather for a run. Too bad I couldn't run longer. Reality was calling. Off to start the day. Have a good one everyone! -Kechie.
-
Yay Sherry:drinker: No running for me today. I biked a little with my daughter. -Kechie.

Congratulations on your decision to quit. You can do it.:flowerforyou: Also, congratulations on a 5K well done! :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker:

Welcome Jodi and Rozee!:flowerforyou:

Absolutely. For me personally, when I'm running at a comfortable pace anything over 4 miles is the same distance. Whether I'm running 6, 8, 10, or 13.1 something happens to me after 4 miles and I just keep going. I have not tried my theory running farther than 13.1 miles yet. I believe that if: a. You are willing to…

I always eat my exercise calories and usually do well when I follow the guidelines on this site. I have had problems losing when I am either consuming too little calories, consuming too many calories, or exercising a lot. When I first came to this site, I had been on another website for a solid month eating a lot fewer…

Good afternoon:flowerforyou: Today was my "long" run, 60 minutes. Afterwards I stained my deck.:drinker: Enjoy the day -Kechie.

Way to go Christine or should I say Speedy!:drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker:

Good morning:flowerforyou: Another rest day for me. I ran/walked 1.5 miles with my 7 yo this morning. Enjoy the day -Kechie.

I ate a small popcorn at the movies.:ohwell: I think I was done with it before the previews were over.

I doubt it. One thing I've observed about us runners, most of us LOVE numbers or running stats.

<hugs ww> Take care of your knee. I hope you get better soon.:flowerforyou: I would definitely walk, bike, or something low impact until that knee feels 100% better. It would be terrible if you hurt yourself more and couldn't do the marathon at all. If you are feeling anxious, have a running friendly doc:wink: check you…

Thanks for posting this excellent advice. Sometimes there are signs that you are at risk for these. I used to get a dry for no apparent reason cough while sitting at my computer long after I had worked out. I didn't think twice about it until my family doc asked me some questions during an office visit. He gave me a rescue…

Excellent! Great time too! I felt the same way when I first started running. For me, it was so important that I be able to run the whole time. I too did not want to peeter. Keep training and add some speed and long workouts to your training. Speed workouts taught me how to run when I'm tired and the long runs can help you…

Sherry, sorry to hear that.:flowerforyou: Hope you get better soon.

Good morning:flowerforyou: Tempo run for me today. One mile warm-up 3 x 800s @ 4:16 w/ 400m jogs One mile cool down Still not hitting 4:16 for every interval but I'm getting closer. Today I hit 4:07 for the first interval. It was all downhill from there. Since today is the first day of summer break and…

Races are so much fun. Be sure to post and let us know how it goes.:drinker:

Happy Birthday Julie:flowerforyou: Today is a rest day for me. I'm on wallpaper removal duty. -Kechie.

:flowerforyou: Congratulations on your success. You are doing so awesome with your weight loss. When I read your post, it reminded me of something that I read a long time ago. The theory is that if you don't eat your last meal or snack too late in the day you should be hungry within one hour of waking. Take a look at what…

Way to go Julie! Oh the tempo runs will be hard. Just do the best you can and think to yourself "I'm training this hard because I _______ (want a pr, want to get faster, etc)". Let us know how it goes. -Kechie.
-
Good morning:flowerforyou: A challenging easy paced 5K for me this morning. Like Sonia, I'm battling the heat and humidity too. Looking forward to seeing what everyone is up to today -Kechie.

ROFLMAO:laugh: Thanks!

Way to go Tiddle!:drinker:

You're welcome:happy: Definitely keep us posted. Also check out Runner's World, there is a really good article on there about how running less with more purpose is so much better for meeting your race goals. I am so excited for you!

It worked for me! I finished my half 12 minutes faster than my goal time. The theory is that long runs should be run at an easy pace. If you were running with a buddy, you guys should be able to chat. Running for a long time at a comfortable pace will give you confidence and endurance. That one day of speed or tempo work…
