Happy Birthday to me! Good afternoon guys:flowerforyou: I ran 4 miles at an easy pace bright and early this morning. It was dark and muggy. Plus, we heard a coyote calling.:noway: I heard coyotes are afraid of people but we didn't wait around to find out. My running buddy and I channeled an olympic track runner and cleared…

Good morning:flowerforyou: I had to run at 9 am today. Note to self: doing a tempo run at 9 am in 85 degree temps is brutal. I ran a 7 mile tempo run. Mile 1 was the warm up. Then I ran 5 miles comfortably hard. Finally, I ran a mile to cool down. I took a beating today. It was sunny, hot, and humid. I ran out of water.…

Way to go Dmor! What kind of monitor do you use? I am in the market for something to track my pace on runs. tia -Kechie.

Good afternoon:flowerforyou: I ran 4 miles at an easy pace bright and early this morning. It was raining and humid. I am thankful that I can run today. Shannon, don't you get impatient. Be a good patient or you'll end up needing more time off.<stepping down from soap box now> Make it a great day everyone! -Kechie.

Nope. Congratulations on your race Tricia! Great time! You are amazing! -Kechie.

I started running in April of 2007. I used a 10 week 5K program. I 'ran' 3 times a week. It took me 4 months to get to week 10 which was 20 minutes of non-stop running. This month, I ran 10.5 miles for the first time. If I can do it, anyone can do it! -Kechie.

Hi Bunny! It is great to hear from you. Absolutely, post here daily to let us know how you're doing.:flowerforyou: Good for you! I am proud of you for deciding to walk that 5K instead. Chat soon -Kechie.

Welcome Lisa! I started running last year using the Couch to 5K program. I LOVED it. It was easy to follow and I was successful (did not get injured). When I was tired, I repeated that week's workouts the following week. I look forward to hearing from you again soon. -Kechie.

Good morning:flowerforyou: I ran 4 miles at an easy pace this a.m. Only 64 degrees this morning! I wanted to run forever. However, the real world was calling.:grumble: Shout out this morning to Shannon. I hope your foot gets better soon. :drinker: -Kechie.

Wow Jess! Great job!:drinker: Enjoy the day -Kechie.

Enjoy your day off Mireille. You deserve it!:flowerforyou: It wasn't that I didn't get enough sleep last night. I was so inspired by the Olympic runners last night that I was constantly running too fast of a pace for an easy run this morning. -Kechie.
-
Good morning:flowerforyou: I was scheduled for 5 easy miles today. However, after watching the Olympics 100 & 200 meter heats last night, I found it challenging to run an "easy" run today. Make it a great day  -Kechie.

Thanks Carol! I am looking at the 205 b/c I just want some basic info (overall time & mile pace). Currently, I memorize my mile markers for lots of different routes and my mile pace while I'm running. Exhausting for me! I'd like to be able to not have to memorize so many numbers while I run longer.

Thanks!:smooched: Does anyone have a gps that you use for running? I am going to ask Santa to bring me one. So, I need to figure out what to ask him for?

Good morning:flowerforyou: 10.5 miles for me this morning! It is great to hear from everyone today. Enjoy your rests, walks, or runs today. -Kechie.

You are right Sherry. I was reading about this in Runner's World magazine the other day. Research shows that it does work and that is why coaches yell at players from the sidelines. The external feedback changes your mental outlook which is huge when you are working your body hard. Basically, if you are running along…

Way to go Sherry!:smooched: I agree it does feel good to encourage someone else during a race. That encouragement makes a difference. I have been on both sides. I've had someone encourage me and I have also encouraged someone else. I am excited about encouraging a fellow female runner during her first 10 miler in a couple…

It was a new route and a new partner. I was lucky enough to run with a stronger partner today. She kicked my butt. In a good way... Plus, the new route was exciting b/c it was all sorts of terrain. We ran lightly traveled roads, off road, roads under construction, a golf course, many subdivisions, a lake trail, and a few…
