Hell, I may have to purchase a scale.

I like it and am looking forward to the "public humiliation".

For 50, I wear a race tank and shorts!:noway: Between 40-50, I'll wear short sleeves and shorts. It has to be below 40 to get me to wear long sleeves and capri length pants (I know they don't make these for guys). If it is less than 35, I wear my NB jacket that looks like a long sleeve shirt and running pants. It is…

Leash, glad the mri is tomorrow.:flowerforyou: Salty sweats are "normal" for a lot of runners. Like Becky, I am a very heavy sweater. I am not usually visibly salty though. However, you can be a salty sweater without it being visible. If your sweat stings your eyes or tastes salty, you're a salty sweater. If you are…

Good morning :flowerforyou: I needed yesterday to lick my wounds. I set a pr. It took me the longest that it has ever taken me to complete this course. It was not pretty but I crossed that finish line. I am amazed at how determined I was. Today, I am glad I had such an awful race because that experience has made me…

Went to the race expo to pick up my packet today... Had a "real life Kechie moment" On Thursday, the race organizers emailed me my bib number. I have never been emailed my bib number before a race. So, I read the email. Then, deleted it. Not bothering to memorize my bib number. This morning I arrived at the expo to…

Thanks Erika :flowerforyou: Happy Friday Friends :flowerforyou: I feel like I am ready. Just hydrating, resting, and eating well. This morning I reviewed my splits from the last 2 times I ran this race and came up with what I hope is a solid game plan.<fingers crossed> chat soon, -Kechie.

"Julei", way to go on that tempo. :drinker: Since you did 3 miles at 9:13 pace, will you come and run my half for me on Sunday? That was my failed goal for my last tempo run. On the pull-up bar, if it swings down, start off doing "lat pulls?" first. You'll get that pull-up done! You can also start off standing on…

    This is great stuff! I am running the City of Oaks in Raleigh Becky. It is a great race. This is my third time. I know how Nitz feels. Partly, I think I keep doing this race b/c I can't run it in the time I'd like to finish it. Based on my last long run, a pr this year is not looking…

Way to hang in there Nitz.:drinker: It sounds like you didn't finish in the time you wanted. Still so proud of you for hanging in there and crossing the finish line. A lot of people, myself included, cannot imagine running that far.:smokin:

@ Nitz: Can't wait to read the race report. C'mon... I am trying to get through the day without eating another piece of candy. I have not been too bad. Since Sunday, I can count (on both hands:laugh: ) how many pieces of candy I've eaten. I am tapering this week. 5 more sleeps till the half. Which means I am trying…

Tag Rainman invited me. I hope that's ok with everyone.

Welcome to MFP :flowerforyou: I too find that I am hungrier on the days that I am less active. However, I am usually not very hungry on my active days. So I monitor my intake and output on a weekly basis. On days that I am more active and less hungry, my calories are at a deficit. I make up that deficit on the days that I…

If you have a lot of weight to lose, starting off walking first is a great idea. Also, starting on a treadmill will help take some of the pressure off. Walking is great exercise. Once you don't have a lot of weight to lose, a run/walk program like Couch to 5K is a great way to get started running. I get this question a lot…

Welcome to MFP :flowerforyou: I am a new runner. I've been running for 3 years. Running shoes are specific to your individual foot. Find your local running specialty store and stop in and have your foot evaluated. They will measure your foot, watch you walk, and pick out a shoe that is just right for you. A good shoe will…

Thanks so much for this info.:flowerforyou: I love it!

Hang in there! You can do this. Your daughter deserves this. Also think about the gift (energy to live life, free of illnesses related to poor diets, etc.) that you will be giving future generations of your family. Girls on the Run is international with programs all over the US and Canada. Here is the link to the website:…

My heart goes out to you. It sounds like you are very stressed by this issue. I have an 8 yo daughter. I also coach young girls (8-12 yo) through a program called Girls on the Run. I believe it is super important to lead by example with our kids. You are taking great care of yourself and they are watching you. By your…

I also love the Dannon nonfat and lowfat. I drain the water from it overnight. I'll bet that makes mine taste different. Definitely creamier... I add fresh blueberries and cheerios or fresh blueberries, almond slivers, and cinnamon for a yummy snack.

My favorite is "Chobani". :smooched: Here is the thing though. It is sooooo good I won't even read the nutrition label. Sorry to be so bad. I do only eat half of the single serving container at a time though. I hope that gets me some points here.:embarassed:

Today has been 4 weeks of no coffee for me.:noway: I quit cold turkey. If I can do it, you can do it.:drinker: I went from at least twice a day every day to no coffee. The headaches lasted for 2 or 3 days for me. By day 2, I was ready to have coffee just to stop the headaches. Even when I drank coffee, I also drank green…

Texas Pete hot sauce has a REALLY good recipe on the bottle. Texas Pete Hot Wings chicken wings 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine 1/3 cup Texas Pete hot sauce Salt Pepper Clean chicken wings. Place on a wire rack in a bread pan; salt and pepper to taste on both sides. Bake at 375 degrees F for 1 hour (30 minutes on…

They count too. If you eat 1800 and burn 1000, your net is only 800.:noway:

Wow! I see it now.:noway:

I only noticed one person eating less than 1300 calories.? Let me take a look again. Maybe I missed something...

Almonds are great. A few slivered almonds on your salad at lunch would help. I think 20 almonds are a little over 100 calories. Check the food diary to be sure. :flowerforyou:

Hey Shannon:smooched: Absolutely! I am running 3 days a week now. Instead of 4-5 and I feel GREAT. Plus, I am seeing consistent inprovement in my times and I'm losing 0.5 a week without trying. Go figure! -Kechie.
