I may have misunderstood. Is the problem with software or that your skills at data interpretation are a bit rusty? It normally takes a human to do the "making sense" bit.

Excel isn't a great statistics package. You could try iNZight.

This website is for a calorie counting approach. You don't appear to be counting calories.

For your first fortnight, I think you've made a great start logging everything you eat. The second stage, where you're at now, is making this more accurate. This is why people are talking about measuring to the nearest gram and millilitre whenever possible. The third stage could be looking at the accuracy of your calorie…

I started on the recommended 1200 calories (think that was 1.5lb loss per week) and lost about 2lb per week. Then I read the forums and why 1200 isn't recommended. I stuck at 1200 and when it got difficult to maintain upped it to 1300. As I approached my goal weight I continued increasing by 100. What was more important…

I've missed reporting a couple of workouts last week. Tonight I worked out in the evening rather than first thing, I think it made a difference in terms of both flexibility and strength. Squats 5x5 79lb - fourth time at this weight since deloading and am much happier with my form. Going to go up next time. Bench 5x7 45lb…

10) Don't refer to women with words such as "germy" or "skank". Here's a tip for you - if you wouldn't use such words in reference to, say, black or Jewish people it's not ok.
-
Yes, it did for me, apparently due to the amount of water your body hangs on to in the muscles. Strength exercises will help you protect your muscles, so that when you lose weight a lesser proportion is muscle loss (and actually fat loss).

I did not that the bump didn't work.

I've read that too much cardio can lead to a bit of a tummy, something to do with cortisol that I've not looked in to. I've lost weight down to a UK size 8 through diet and cardio. Now I'm shifting my focus to weight-lifting and yoga to get the toned look I'm after and feel stronger.

"Hour glass" was just en vogue in the fifties wasn't it?
-
Don't you just go to the chemists for some cream?

Bump for this morning.

Eeeuw.

I found the whole "body shape" classifications helpful for learning about what clothing best suits my figure.
-
Mix things up a bit. Try something different such as a different form of exercise or different approach to your eating.
-
I would say "pear".

Do you think it's challenging your perspective on what a woman should look like? Perhaps challenging an assumption that a slim woman is only slim for men? I'm not sure.
-
Apologies if you've recently said, but what programme is it you're doing?
-
Well, I for one am impressed with your starting weights. Initially I couldn't even squat my own body weight without falling over or getting stuck.
-
I know what you're saying MissH. I'm just angry and have a bit of a tendency towards cutting off my nose to spite my face.
-
Cheers randomtai, I'm not trying to fall out with you, and perhaps I have misinterpreted your words. Happy lifting!
-
But this is our point. You didn't comment on the PT, which is fair enough of course, and your only point was to state that you presume people walk all over me, and its my fault.
-
I often have that kind of angry response to hearing about how others are treated and make similar, "I wouldn't stand for it" comments. However, I recently read an article about such comments diminish the experience of the person actually there and somehow detracts from the behaviour of the person in the wrong and shifts…
-
I think one thing that doesn't help is I keep remembering the words of one of the other PTs, "Oh, he doesn't crack a smile unless you've impressed him, you've got to get his respect before he's friendly" and I'd just laughed at this and said something about being too old to worry about impressing someone with that attitude.
-
Thank you everyone, your encouragement and wise words mean a lot to me. One of us wrote recently about losing the "ego". I think as well as the physical rest, this week has also given me that - a loss of ego. I've given myself permission to not be all macho, but to take things at my own pace.
-
Thanks for the words of support Stef. I must admit that I'm planning on re-jigging my gym routine to avoid this PT as much as possible and will definitely never approach him for any favour again (we're supposed to ask the on-duty PT to spot us on the bench).

Welcome and good luck. (Am I right in thinking English is not your first language?).

First lift after a few of you recommended a week off. Squats deloaded to 79lb to focus on form. 5, 5, 5, 5, 5 and pleased with form. OHP deloaded to 40.5lb to focus on just ability to lift the damn thing. 5, 5, 5, 5, 6 and pleased with form. DL deloaded to 123lb 5.
