I understand.

Ok, my understanding of marriage could be mistaken. In what way is in the spirit of marriage?
-
I think you're probably right. I know that Paul McKenna has done some stuff on it.
-
A little, yes, when you've been invited to their wedding to celebrate their love and all that. Trying to make the groom have regrets doesn't really seem in right spirit, does it?
-
Oh come on. Really?

You think it's a binary situation? I.e. you believe that either you complete your studies or you deal with your emotional eating?
-
This is emotional eating, it'd be healthier in the long run to deal with that.
-
My favourite one yet.
-
You could also try sipping on water and chewing gum - it certainly sounds as though it's a case of eating through boredom rather than hunger.

Celery, carrots, chicken, popcorn... I've heard of a baked chickpea recipe but never had much success with it myself.

Great idea for a thread. Mine is, "Because being poorly is no excuse to lose what I've achieved".

I would be angry with the surgeon who'd given my partner a brain transplant yes. We love each other and support each other. That's our definition of "being a partner". Wouldn't you be disappointed with your daughter if she tried to undermine your efforts?
-
What are your nibbling on? Sweet? Savoury?
-
WTF? Come on - how many of you would refuse to support your partner? How many of you would not mind your children so your partner could exercise? How many of you would insist on having crap food in the house, let alone eating it in front of your partner? How many of you would undermine or sabatage a loved one's attempts to…

Good idea canadian I hope everyone else shares what they've noticed too! I'm a beginner to lifting, 5ft 6lb and 9st 5.8lb - precisely that, for four mornings in a row. Talk about maintenance. Arms - definitely see the muscles in terms of biceps. Backs of arms still flabby. No change to measurements. Bum - difficult for me…

Aaaaand I was back this morning. Squats 5x 84.5lb Bench 5x 50.5lb Rows 5x 57lb Felt pretty strong this morning. Don't normally lift on a Saturday morning and there was a fairly friendly crowd in. At one point I had four men trying to demonstrate stretches to me for tightness in my groin. It's pretty bad now on the left,…

I haven't been logging, mainly because I'm unable to remember what I lifted. So, I've just pulled my finger out and brought my little black book to the computer. Squats. 5x5 84.5lb. This is an increase. Deload plus slower increases has really helped my form. OHP 5, 5, 6, 7, 6 with 40.5lb. Still reluctant to increase the…

Read the website thoroughly before you start is my advice. (Your question suggests that you really haven't). It's a great programme, I hope you get as hooked as I have. You should consider joining the 5x5 group here too, it's full of very informative, supportive people.

Or, indeed, going shaky.

Why don't you try three days of planning the day in advance, in order to prevent going over?
-
Thank you for replying. So even if a person gets very defined muscles on their arms, say, the arms will be slimmer than the un-toned, "skinny-fat" look? I'm surprised by that, thinking of some of the bulky men I know, their shoulders are huge but their waists small, compared with other fat or skinny men.
-
Are you planning the day in advance?

Mock her on a public forum whilst objectifying her or start a collection for her are not the only two options.

It's taken me about 6 weeks to find maintenance, mainly because a big part of me found it difficult to give up the buzz of losing. I upped by 100 calories per day per week and appear to have found it at 2100 per day (before exercise calories).

There are often posts from people saying they don't like vegetables. I'm afraid I have little sympathy with this attitude from adults. It's like saying you don't like brushing your teeth or tidying your bedroom. There are so many different vegetable and so many ways of preparing that there must be some you don't find…

"Booty" is American slang for buttocks isn't it? You see a person apparently ravaged by drugs and your first thought is not for her health or happiness or her family, but the attractiveness of her *kitten* to you and the entertainment of strangers on this forum?

Mehdi advocates a low bar. It's the only bit of his advice that I don't try to follow. I'm just comfortable with the bar high up.
-
Also, there's inaccuracies. 3oz of salmon? "Homemade - Mashed Potato, Pumpkin and Sweet Potato, 0.75 cup"?
-
I did as you said and disregarded last week, so went back to September. There are plenty of days part-logged or not logged at all.

It's not clear what the motivation is behind some of the contributions on this thread. Is it to castigate a woman for daring to not meet a male ideal? (See the story of the rather amazing woman Balpreet Kaur). Or is it that we are concerned about women mis-using steroids whilst at the same time not being too concerned…
