I am an exception to the rule. I started weight-lifting and my weight loss stalled (after a previously steady rate of 2lb loss per week). I was unhappy and demotivated. I wasn't making good progress with the weights because I was at a calorie deficit. I felt I had two goals and they were conflicting. So, I quit the…

My breasts are part of my identity as a woman, but such a small part compared to so many other things. I found the earlier post along the lines of, "when I reach my weight-loss goal my husband tells me I will get new breasts" surprising and very disappointing.

I have similar problems with a couple of colleagues, thankfully not ones I have to see often. Like you I tend to be able to smile and ignore, but sometimes it really gets to me. Reading your thread, a new tactic occurred to me - asking a question. E.g. Her, "I hope you don't put it all on again like you did last time".…

Count yourself lucky - we wake up to this every morning!

You know what's happening, perhaps read up a bit more about Emotional Eating - knowledge is power and all that. The problem with comfort eating is that eating food doesn't actually satisfy your emotional hunger, so you over-eat and are still left with the original sadness. For your mental health, you need to find other…

Yesterday was Workout B for me. Squats. 2x5 at previous weight of 106lb 3x5 101lb. A couple of weeks ago a PT told me I was squatting too low and only needed to go to parallel. I think I was too keen to believe him and subsequently I suspect that my squats have got very shallow. I deloaded to 101lb in order to work on…

Thank you lovely people for your honesty and encouragement.

When I was about 4lb off my target. The intention was to not over-shoot but it happened anyway.

Make the best food choices you can and err on the side of caution with your guesses. I would also suggest being far more conscious of the food you eat. Don't say "a few appetisers here and there". Do say, "I had a handful of salad leaves, one of those mini quiches and three mini sausages. I didn't eat any of the pork pies…

Thanks for explaining. For what it's worth, I think you've made a really good start. In my first few weeks I learned a lot about the following and would encourage you to think about similar: - I learned a lot about calorie needs, and how many calories I should be eating. At the moment you are apparently eating slightly too…

2 years to lose 11lb?

How long have you been doing this, and how much have you lost? I'm confused because your start date appears to be March.

Oh, and also, "**** The Star"

For those who don't want to click on the Telegraph, the transcript follows. I thought it was a great speech, redefining "feminism" for a lot of young people who wouldn't otherwise identify as feminists. Today we are launching a campaign called “HeForShe.” I am reaching out to you because I need your help. We want to end…

Somebody posted a website in which you put your measurements in and it would represent you at different weights. I think I have that correct. You could alter the cartoon you slightly with different hair colour, clothing etc. Anyone have the link?

I'm with you now. A week's worth of calories... less 3500. So you're eating less than a week's worth of calories. I share your curiosity about how this 3500 calorie equals a pound of body fat works.
-
You're not in deficit though. You've eaten a week's worth of calories in 7 days.
-
No, you have still eaten a week's worth of calories in a week.

I wouldn't give the fruit to your dog. Firstly because dogs digestion can't handle fruit in the same we way do, you'll regret it. Secondly dogs don't require fibre for digestion, they have evolved to use gristle and bone.

Donate to charity - I'm not going back. I have kept one pair of jeans though, just in case I start to forget what it was like.

I've found it becomes easier. Bad habits fade. Hard, new behaviour becomes habit. But to be honest, the most motivating thing is seeing and feeling my body change for the better.

I think, as someone who has also done this at 1200 calories as MrsS has, my advice is sound.

I've asked a couple and they seem to have degrees in Sports Science and similar.
