And take this one (and let's be charitable and presume that he actually means "women above the age of consent" when he refers to girls). What message does that send out to young men and women reading this? That women are there for men's approval. That women can't even go out to town without being judged and criticised by…

Yeah, all black people wanting equality? How about a bit of respect and equality for all, eh? Same goes for gay people. Bloody people suffering discrimination and prejudice, so inconsiderate with their whining.

Do you have access to any of the following? Microwave, fridge or kettle? How many calories do you have for eating at work? From what you've said so far, I would advise planning some chocolate in to your calories. I use 2-finger Kit Kats and Blue Ribands for this as they are only 100 calories each.

I thought this was going to be about turkey thighs.

Been maintaining for about three months and feel very similar to you. In addition to your first two strategies, I also weigh in every morning and graph my morning weigh-ins. My next step is to get more accepting of the temporary increases that I'm bound to see in the future.

Squats 5x5 @ 134lb (more than body weight, form terrible). Bench 6,5,5,5,5 @ 51lb (no more excuses, need to move up). Rows 5x5 @ 68lb (finding these very unsatisfactory - what are they supposed to be working? I might swap these for another move. My current plan is to try a (cautious bulk) for a few weeks, lift heavy,…

Thanks for taking the time to write that Sardelsa, I found it very powerful. I've lost about 2 and a half stone since I started in March, making me a very nervous maintainer for the last couple of months. But my weight-lifting is getting (relatively) heavy now and leaves me feeling drained. I think the next step is that…

And why aimed at "women"?

I agree with libby you need to strike the balance between telling him how you feel and how you'd appreciate his support and companionship whilst not giving him the message that you are judging him or expect him to have the same goals as you. What are you going to do?
-
Bulking women I understand that you're eating "big" in terms of calories. I'm one of those nervous, conservative women you're taking about, considering a first bulk but afraid to eat that much! Would you mind talking a bit about your diets? Is it all vegetables and lean protein?
-
What kinds of things did you cook before?
-
Yep, that really works for some people. I'm at the other extreme. For a few weeks I was jumping on about 3 times a day. It really helped me to gain an appreciation for how much my weight just naturally fluctuates depending upon meal size, water drunk, time of day etc.

You ate at 1400 yesterday and you feel a sense of urgency to increase? Up your calories by 100 per day, so 1500 today. Be prepared for the scales to reflect some water-retention and keep in mind that at a deficit you did not put on a pound of fat (or any other body tissue) over night. How does that sound?

I have both in my smoothie/milkshake for breakfast. More oats on a lifting day and more protein on a rest day.

I'm an atheist, but extremely respectful of others and their belief systems. I try to be respectful of others, but I'm finding it more and more difficult to respect belief systems that I see as harmful and dangerous. I don't think there is a purpose in life, but I count myself as very fortunate to have the freedom and…

I had one of those rest days yesterday when you're just dying to get to the gym and lift. Squats 5,5,6,5,5 @ 129.5lb (body weight!!) plus in my warm-ups I focused on form. OHP 4,3,3,3,3 @ 51.5lb Grrrrrrrrrrind. Deadlift 5 @ 150.5lb These weren't good. Might need to deload for form. Came home starving and ate 300g of Greek…

A hug from me too. I agree with seeing the gym-closure period as an opportunity to try some different exercises - youtube videos, walking challenge, that kind of thing.
-
Your header makes me think, "I don't know, do you?". I don't know what half of those exercises are, or what your goals are, but my first thought was to remove some of the "again" lines.
-
Yeah, what's so wrong with letting that water spray all over your bathroom eh? Why do they even bother put seats and lids on toilets? They are so redundant.
-
Misogyny, especially the rampant misogyny on these forums. Referring to "girls" when you mean "women". Telling women they should shave, as though female body hair is wrong because some man doesn't find it attractive and women exist solely for him to judge attractive or otherwise.
-
People who view the over-taking lane as a "fast lane"? ;)
-
Poor use of capital letters.
-
People who leave the toilet seat up, it's just basic hygiene to close the lid.
-
I agree with everyone else - you've had great successes so far, so must know what you are doing. Your diary is closed so we can't see, but I would suggest recording everything you eat is an absolute must. Even if you're not aiming for a calorie goal, even if you're not very accurate yet, it's a very powerful tool.

Play nicely everyone, I think English isn't their first language! I disagree with throwing food away - donate to a raffle or food bank.
-
I thought it was rather apt. And you can't get too much Fry.
-
I often boggle at how many people seem to have unclean, untidy bathrooms.
-
Smoothie every morning for breakfast here (and a dishwasher). Almond milk, banana, oats and protein powder. On a day I'm lifting I increase the calories I spend on oats and decrease that spent on protein. On a rest day, it's the other way 'round.

Two days away with work (including one huge Christmas meal which left me feeling sick) and then an 11 hour sleep last night, this morning's lift went great. Squats. I warmed up slowly, adding the 5kg plates and checking my form on each one, figuring out when it starts to get shallow. 5,5,6,5,5 @123lb and then, just to see…

Hurrah for nice people!
