Krok I haven't a clue what you post about at the moment, but I recognise big numbers in there! voelkel Great workout. Great outfit. BealeAppeal I remember reaching this point when my two goals of weight loss and weight lifting started to clash. Waves to everyone else So, finally got to the gym after last week under-eating…

I too read the title and thought "not this again", but your story and your photos are inspiring. Congratulations.

You can't determine where weight comes off. You just need to lose a bit more. Or you could just pull your knickers up a bit higher?
-
I think that following a diet plan can help with inspiration and trying new things. What kind of "philosophy" currently interests you? What intrigues you about the paleo diet? The answers to these kind of questions will help you search for, and find, relevant diets and recipes.

Welcome, and I hope you have as much success as I have had on here. I recommend you go to the Getting Started forum and read some of the announcement threads at the top - one's called, "A guide to get you started on your path to Sexypants" - despite the name it's got great advice.

How do you know how many calories you're eating, if you're not recording what you eat, let alone measuring your intake accurately?
-
Don't despair frontin Take it one day at a time. I weighed in every single morning, and unless I ate a big evening meal the night before, my weight dropped a few ounces every morning. It's a great feeling, knowing that if you stick with it you can see differences so soon.

You're perhaps not getting enough rest days in there. I understand that's when most of the muscle-growing goes on. Can you give us some information on your calories?

That's a lovely post Arussell

Brilliant work! May I also congratulate you on having a bathroom photo with a clean mirror, no clutter around the sink and no clothes on the floor?

She's a colleague, it sounds to me as though you're giving her friend status. Or perhaps she even reminds you of a female relative - her position as mentor, and your "Please Her" stance makes me think parent. (I'd do a bit of Googling on that Landmark Forum money spinner too).

I agree with others for the reason of weighing in first thing. I know that my weight can fluctuate by a couple of pounds due to the amount of food I've eaten, water drunk and exercise done just that day.
-
1) As often as you want. 2) Doesn't matter, just be consistent. I weigh every morning first thing.

Prepare for, and control, your evening eating in advance by meal-planning and earning exercise calories earlier in the day.

You seem to put a lot of store in what she thinks. Or might be thinking, to be exact. Why? Do you really respect her and value her opinion? Or do you think she just kind of represents your own insecurities?

Hey Kirsten, when I first started calorie-counting I was losing 1.5 to 2lb per week for a couple of months. This was pretty much just through reducing how many calories I was eating, as I didn't start seriously exercising until I joined a gym. I don't ban any foods, but by habit I probably do make about 80% of my calories…

It sounds as though you work as a cleaner. Presuming you do this five days a week, you could just up your activity level..?

I don't have a problem with believing you if you say the tampon might leak. I really sympathise with those of you who have such heavy periods. (Thank god for a thread where people are talking about periods and actually using the word period)

I haven't replied because I keep reading and think that I haven't learned anything as a woman. I have learned an awful lot about nutrition and strength training but also about patience and resilience.
-
As has already been said, the best way to lose weight is through diet. (I see exercise for health, and a handy way of earning a few extra calories to eat).
-
I also didn't see anyone judging you. I think it's very sad that in this day and age an adult would have to fight their partner to be allowed out in the car after 8pm. On edit, actually it makes me angry

Hang on. You finish work at 3. Go to the gym on your way home?

Your husband can express his concerns but he can't stop you. Where do you live? Beirut?

That's interesting, why do you recommend light weights, high reps (as opposed to heavy weights, low reps)? How are you thinking that this will help with weightloss? I'm not a personal trainer, no education about this, just picking stuff up from what I read :)

What help do you get with the children? Is their father around? Also - chocolate? I saved 99 calories every day for an evening Blue Riband. Others swear by a few pieces of high cocoa, high quality chocolate.

Goodo :) Does that mean that the "HELP HELP HELP" feeling has passed?

Are you able to exercise in front of a mirror? To be honest, it's mostly other people who have pointed out bad posture to me. I just don't see it, perhaps because I'm so used to having one shoulder a centimetre higher than the other(!).
-
I don't think it's rude to say, "Thank you, I think I'll skip that today". I'm not familiar with Burger King (don't like their chips!) but I presuming there was a menu that offered a "lighter option" like chicken nuggets or a veggie burger or you could just have eaten chips. Also, it's important to stop seeing eating as an…

I know, acceptance is easier said than achieved. Are you stretching along with your strength training? Is your form good?
