• So sorry to hear about Mildred, prayers the antibiotics do the trick and she is feeling better soon. Hugs and a tender pet for Mildred.
• I can totally relate, when I first started I didn't recognize myself in the mirror I had put everyone and everything before me. I thought I was doing the right thing until a health scare and I realized that if I didn't take care of me I wouldn't be around to love and take care of my family. Now 10 months later I look in…
• Hi ladies, it's been a good day today I think I'm finally getting back to my pre-holiday routine. I am enjoying reading everyone's messages, I hope to get to know you all better. Thank you for sharing "real" life events and I am so impressed with the love and support offered. I feel good about today... no sugar, first day…
• Ladies, thank you for helping me understand how this works I think I'm all set. kayak_kutie Utah is beautiful! We are headed for Zion's Canyon next week for our anniversary, 34 years. We stay at a wonderful hotel called the Desert Pearl, because it's off season we can get great rates on the rooms. Thanks again to all who…
• Happy New Year!! I have been using MFP but I have not done a lot of posting or really understand how this all works... So I have a few questions if you don't mind teaching an older dog some new tricks. 1) how do I join? your group 2) some of you have mentioned bookmarking this thread, how do I do that? 3) I can't seem to…
• I totally understand and live the same challenges... Depression, anxiety, over analyzing life and situations, it's exhausting. I would love to travel this journey with you, I'm not perfect in my choices but I work on it everyday.. let's support each other.
• I totally understand, when I started my new journey I was quickly outgrowing my size 20 pants and they were the only ones I could squeeze into. I've been working hard for ~8 months, what makes this time different is I'm logging "everything" on MFP and I'm exercising. I've gone thru all the sizes in my closet and finally…
• For me: taking myself seriously. Considering myself worthy of looking fantastic. Which mean: not sabotaging myself. Not slipping into old habits. Doing this for me and forever because I want to treat myself the best way possible.
This
• Great Job!! This is not a small thing this is the awakening and a huge step toward your goal. You can do it!! So happy for you, what an inspiration. Keep going.
• This is hard stuff. You gotta fight. When you haven't always loved yourself that's pretty tough sometimes.
This is the only time I have put myself first, the only time I have stuck with it (eight months and counting). Yep when I hit my 40 pound loss I cried, sometimes when I'm working out and the old me is yelling…
• Thank you all for your messages and thoughts, I'm using MFP and staying at ~ 1,300 calories per day and losing 1 to 1.5 lbs a week. I'm working hard to make a "life style" change not a diet so I'm just not sure it's the road for me. I'm really working on making good choices. Anyway thanks again.
• Ha ha, I should explain, I am female.. my login name is after my dog Rupert :) I'm 54 and 5 foot tall so I have a ways to go. I am the poster child for always putting everyone elses needs above my own and I just let myself go... I decided in March of this year it was my turn to focus on me and my health. It's been hard to…
• Thank you everyone! it means so much to me that you would take the time to respond. It helps me to not feel like I'm on this journey alone. Best wishes to you all.
• Thank you for your comment, I do worry about your second point. I have become obsessed with tracking my food intatke, I use a food scale and measure everything! I also walk a mile every morning and ride my exercise bike about 3 times per week for 3 miles. Maybe I need to add some calories (protein) and see if that helps.
• Thank you, I'm just learning all of the best ways to lose the fat and make sure I eat enough. I still have 60 lbs to go and I know to do it right this time it will take patience, not my strong suite
