  • Even reading this makes my thighs hurt! What's a squat jump? If it's what I am imagining there is no way I'm going to manage 10, let alone 70! :D :D
  • Make up a big pot of soup when you have time and keep it for those nights. Or leftovers, or sandwiches. Or filled fresh pasta cooks really quickly and doesn't need sauce (just a little spray of olive oil and maybe a sprinkle of parmesan). There are some 'upmarket' instant noodle type things that I sometimes have for lunch,…
  • Week 3 Start Weight: 152lb Challenge Goal Weight: 140-144 Weigh-in #1: 149 Weigh-in #2: 146 Weigh-in #3: 147 Total loss: 5lb I gained a pound. There is no justice ;-) I'm blaming 'fluctuations'. Last week was a weird low. This week is a weird high. Back to normal next week. That's my positive thought! Healthy meal: roast…
  • I lost 67lb while on Depo. I tracked what I ate, first through weightwatchers and then on here. I started running to burn a few more calories, and carried on tracking what I ate.
  • Week 2 — Start Weight: 152lb Challenge Goal Weight: 140-144 Weigh-in #1: 149 Weigh-in #2: 146 Total loss: 6lb A positive thought I had this week was: That I am feeling more positive about my health than I have in a while. A healthy snack/meal I chose this week was: Nothing terribly inspiring, but I had a chicken korma with…
  • Disclaimer: all I know I learned from the forums here! I don’t think you can ‘know’ so much as rationalise. If a lb of fat is 3500 calories, then if you lose 3lb in a week but your deficit below maintenance wasn’t 1500 calories every day, then it can’t all have been fat, so some must be other stuff (like water in your…
  • Today I feel slightly lost but also positive. I was discharged from the specialist I have been seeing for the last year and a bit this morning, and did week 2 day 1 of couch to 5k this afternoon.
  • I eat most of my Fitbit calories. I usually get my 10,000 steps including a deliberate walk, which gives me an extra 400. I think that's probably more than I deserve though, so I set my goal calories to the minimum 1200. I seem to lose about half a pound a week at that level which I am happy with. I could probably lose…
  • Mostly water weight and Christmas bloat I am sure, but always good to see the scale go down. I am not expecting great things from here on in... half a pound a week is my aim, and my scale only weighs in whole pounds!
  • Start Weight: 10st 12lb (152lb) Challenge Goal Weight: 10st - 10st4lb (140-144lb) Weigh-in #1: 10st 9lb (149lb) This week was the first week I have been able to run (jog?) in well over a year (medical issues). I thought I would start by doing c25k from the start, and week 1 day 1 was easy-peasy! Healthiest tea was probably…
  • I had the non-HR one in purple which I LOVED, but the pixels on the screen kept breaking, and after sending me two replacements where the same thing happened they acknowledged that there was a real issue and 'upgraded' me to the HR version, but it was much chunkier. The Fitbit Alta is much more similar in size/shape to the…
  • Fitbit user here too! I have the Alta (no HR) that I wear for all occasions. I also have a Garmin vivosmart HR somewhere but I don't like how it looks.
  • Name: L Occupation: University lecturer Age: 41 Height: 5'6" Starting Weight: 152 (today) Challenge Goal Weight: less than 152. Maybe 140-144? Ultimate Goal Weight: 130 (lightest ever adult weight from 5 years ago) to 136 (nicely under 10 stone with a buffer, pre-illness weight) What are your goals while participating in…
  • Requested! Oh, just saw the bit about the group being closed.
  • If you google “farmhouse inns nutrition” then scroll down a few hits, there are some pdfs from the SS17 menu with all the nutritional info. They’re not linked from the allergens/nutrition page on the website and don’t have the ‘new’ dishes on them but you should be able to get an idea of the options. There’s a hit for the…
  • I have a sportcount lap counter which goes on one finger. Fairly cheap option if I remember correctly, but you do have to press the button each length.
  • I've used insure and go quite a lot, seems reasonably cheap with good cover, you can add winter sports cover, and I think recreational scuba etc is included (within depth/qualification limits). Most online policies will have a list of the activities that are covered as standard and those that are part of winter sports etc.…
  • Chiquitos now does a range of low calorie options. I had a burrito with green rice and I think it came in under 600 although I can't remember. For pub food, Fayre and Square pubs have an under 600 cal menu.
  • I've lost 48lb while breastfeeding and my boobs are staying put! I have gone down a back size rather than a cup size, but not as much as I expected. I haven't been for a fitting in a while though, so I should probably do that. I'm expecting to lose fullness when I stop, though.
