  • Original start weight: 158 Challenge Start Weight: 134 Challenge Goal: 130 and sub-35 min 5k Week 1: 133 and 36:28 Week 2: 133 Comments: No running this week. • I did something similar when I was running 6 or so years ago, not sure it was officially but I used the c25k app but with jog/run intervals rather than walk/run. Got me to a 32min 5k, but then life and ill health got in the way. At the moment though I think I need to be able to consistently get the full 5k in, so working…

And I am a bit achy so maybe that explains the weight bump. Or maybe it was the flapjack and brownies at work events…
  • Challenge Start Weight: 134 Challenge Goal: 130 and 5k Week 1: 134 Week 2: 133 and 4.0km (30 mins) Positive thought: Two weeks without any exercise is OK. Healthy snack or meal: I roasted some aubergine and courgette with shallots and red pepper and some dried herbs, and then used it in my packed lunches during the week.…

Comments: Was hoping to see a drop this week as it’s the first week back ‘on it’ since Christmas, but sadly not. I need…
  • I’ll kick off! Start Weight: 158 (my post-treatment high) Challenge Start Weight: 134 Challenge Goal: 130 and 5k Comments: Had some kind of vomiting bug last week, only just getting over it now, but still feeling a bit pathetic. No exercise or even activity, and my diet has been mainly “beige food” until last night when we…
  • Hi all I’ve spent the last 18 months losing the weight I gained during treatment for an illness and while recovering from surgery in 2016-17. With the help of this group a nice round 2 stone (28lbs) has melted off (the treatment weight plus a bit extra), and just before Christmas I just hit my lightest ever adult weight…

Week 11: 131 Week 12: 130 I’m not convinced that’s a ‘real’ number because I had a pretty low-volume meal the previous evening and…
  • I’ve tried maintaining without logging and I’m not good at it! I have MFP set to lose 1lb a week sedentary (but it bottoms out at 1200 which I think would give me about 0.75lb). I then add activity via Fitbit, which I think over-estimates my calories by about 100 a day. So I figure this set up gives me a 250 cal logging…
  • I think you’re doing a grand job too. I like having somewhere to weigh in on a weekly basis to keep me accountable. Personally I don’t need lots of other ‘stuff’ around that (although I’ll contribute if I have something to say or joining a challenge fits my life), and I don’t think you should feel you have to provide it :-)
  • My secret? Errr...not entirely sure. I think a few pounds are actually down to starting on meds for RA and a reduction in inflammation rather than fat loss. The rest? Just trying to eat under maintenance. I am not spectacularly tight with my logging, I don’t eat ‘clean’ or do any particular eating plan. I like cheese. I…

Week 11: 131 House is still a building site but I found the scales and frankly I’m astonished. Not been very good recently and was…
  • My house is upside down while the bathrooms, living room and dining room are decorated. I don’t even know where my scale is this week! Another week of this and hopefully the scales will reappear. Although: chocolate is happening more than it should :-/

Found it, but it’s now in a different place, on a…

Went mini-hiking with my 10 year old and explored castles, woods and a ruined abbey. Ate more than usual but also did more walking than…
  • Ooo, I don’t know! I would imagine that if you make the yourself you could freeze the dough, but I am lazy and only buy them. I’m going to try and bake gluten free ones this year though... I am going to try this recipe I think:…
  • Lebkuchen are a German Christmas treat a bit like gingerbread and a cross between a cookie and a cake in texture. Delicious, and they appear in the shops right about now.
