It all depends on how much you put into and what path you take. I've been doing the Lean 90X program and I've lost around 15 lbs with it, but I've been building muscle at the same time. A big key is to follow the nutrition guide.

I have a Timex one which I like with the chest strap. A lot of people here recommend the Polar products which my treadmill has built in. I notice when my wife loses weight, and I compliment her all the time. I guess it all depends the man and how often they see you. If it's gradual, it might not be as noticeable as someone who hasn't seen you in a while.

I'll have to agree P90X is the best one I've used so far. You might be able to get a used copy from ebay for fairly cheaply.

My suggestion is to try them all, and stick with the ones you love. Mix it up every now and again. That way you don't get bored.

It varies from person to person and also how fast you lose weight and if you lose 100 pounds or more. My sister-in-law who had the lap band surgery and lost around 200 lbs was told by her doctor that her loose skin will eventually tighten back up but it might take around 2 years since she lost so much weight.

Yes P90X works. If you do an hour or more a day of intense exercise for 6 days a week of anything, you'll burn a lot of calories.

I've read up on this because of my own issues. What works for me is lotioning my feet. I like to use an aloe vera lotion. I usually wear two pair of running socks also when running. I like to make sure there are no weak spots in the socks which tend to cause my blisters. I've heard you can buy lubricants at running stores…

If your machine has a HRM then it might be about as accurate, but otherwise I would trust the stand alone HRM.

I use my forerunner 305 all the time. It's great. I'm running a 5K tonight and will be using it then.
