  • Invest in a pedometer and you can track the steps your take at work. Then at the end of your day, go to http://walking.about.com/library/cal/uccalc3.htm, to calulate the aproximate calories burned.
  • Also an easy way to track walking during your shift, invest in a pedometer. I work on a 30-bed surgical unit and usually average 9,000-12,000 steps a night. That's 4-6.5 miles.
  • I am also a nurse, working night shift. I have found that tracking everything from midnight to midnight works best for me. What I mean is, say Monday when I get up, I'll start tracking and continue until midnight. I will complete my entries for Monday and anything I eat or drink at work will count for Tuesday. Hope this…
  • Feel free to add me. I have been on this app for over a year but have completely commited this New Years day and have logged in everyday. My diary is open , there are good days and bad, but I'm only human. I'm trying to lose 50 lbs and have lost 19 so far. In a rut right now although I walk/run every day.
  • I love the eliptical. Easy on the joints (if thats a concern) and burns lots of calories.
  • Hi. Feel free to add me. I'm 32 yr old, mother of 3 (1 set of twins). Have been with MFP for 1 yr but finally got serious this yr. Of course there's been mistakes (today for example) but for the most part I think I have been pretty good. 20lbs down, 26 to go then ... who knows. I have an open diary.
