I bring great tasting healthy meals to work and leave all of my cash, checks, charge cards at home. Walking on my lunch helps tremendously. I also moved my office because the snack/dessert table was right next to my desk. Seriously, I didn't even have to get out of my chair to reach the donuts...

Well, since you asked for my advice, this is what I have to offer: Being overweight is not a natural state. We were not made to be that way. We all know the reason we are overweight is because we take in more calories than we burn. And, theoretically, almost everyone has the ability to eat less and move more. So you have 3…

Thank you, everyone. I'm flattered by all the responses!

Thank you so much, everyone!

Lol. I was at my hair stylist recently. He said, "Your hair looks thicker. What are you doing?" I said, "That's because my head skin shrunk!" He laughed so hard, I thought he was going to pee himself....

Wow. I don't think YOU are being the selfish one. Our significant others usually put their best face forward PRIOR to the marriage. That means his behavior is likely to get worse, not better. Is this the future you want for yourself? Speaking as someone who has been in this situation (I'm not judging, honestly, I've been…

Welcome! Congratulations on taking this step towards better health. This is a great place to be. I was in the same place as you health-wise and have lost 80-ish pounds. I'm Pagan too, friend me if you want. My "friends" on here are a great bunch of positive people (no negativity allowed!) so if you are looking for other…

I've lost 70lbs and was sure I shrunk so I went bra shopping this weekend. I got a professional fitting because I had hoped to go from my 46DDD to a 44DD or 42DD and I wasn't quite sure which to buy. I was surprised to find that I needed a 44H! I have no idea how she did it, but the saleswoman managed to push my back fat…

Love this!

I have the same issues. I reset my macros, going higher on protein and fat, lower on carbs.

Lean Protein and vegies for dinner, combined with a decent paced walk for 1/2 hour to an hour (depending on your weight) should take care of it. If not, scale back a tad tomorrow and get as little extra exercise. Our bodies don't really work on a 24 hour system. The last time I went over on a Friday dinner, I tried to look…

I agree. It's been pretty accurate for me. I was just mentioning to someone last night that this is my favorite feature of MFP.

Interesting. In my office (6 women, no men) we always take half. We might go back for another half later, but we always take half at a time :)

Hi Andrea. I sent you a friend request. This forum is really amazing. It helped me to overcome my emotional eating issues. I try to be a good source of support for others who have the same problems as I did. Even though I no longer emotional eat, I know that it is something that will always live inside me and I work pretty…

I LOVE your dad. My mom told me to ignore then. You can guess how well that turned out.

I gained 2 lbs when I first started walking this spring. I always have a little gain when I add something new to my exercise routine, but then it comes off the next week. From what I've read, when you use a muscle or joint that you haven't used much in the past, your body surrounds it with fluid to help cushion it for a…

I eat back 150 exercise calories each day. (I'm sure its just a coincidence that that is the amount of calories in a Skinny Cow mint ice cream sandwich.) I walk on my lunch at around a 3mph pace for 40 minutes and burn around 250 calories. I log it as a 2mph walk for 30 mins which comes out to 150 calories burned. On the…

Grains are tough, because they are mostly carbs. I choose to get most of my carbs from vegetables and fruits, because of the extra vitamins and nutrients. I do have a whole wheat tortilla for lunch if it fits in my plan and I have rice a couple times per week. I have a sweet potato once a week. My motto is: "Eat from the…

Feel free to add me too. I've lost 61 lbs so far. It's been almost a year since I started, but I "fell off the wagon" for almost half the winter. Having lost that 66th lb, I know have 99 left to loose. I can't believe after a year I finally have less than 100. You will get there too!

Thank you. I think that the MMW was rather high for calorie burn too.

This is how I made it last night: Take a couple zucchhini and cut them lengthwise, then in to slices. Toss them in a non-stick (I use ceramic) frying pan with some garlic salt and pepper (I used white pepper). I do NOT add any oil. Turn the heat on high and let them get brown on each side. They will start to burn to the…

Being more active has helped stop my evening binging. With our work/dinner/housework schedules, I usually start my exercising around 8:00 pm. By the time I'm done, I don't have TIME to eat if I want to get enough sleep to be able to do it all over again tomorrow. Sometimes I start to miss the slow, lazy evenings I used to…

I hear you. My mom and husband love buffet. I usually make a salad and choose a meat to top it off. I usually add some chicken or shrimp or beef. If you like them, and they are available on the buffet, crab legs are great because they keep you hands busy while everyone keeps making those trips back to the buffet. If its a…

I've lost 60 over the past year and only one person has mentioned it. I did have 5 people (in the last 2 weeks) ask if I got new glasses though - lol.

I've had some confidence issues myself. Push yourself to be more confident by saying hello to people you might not normally. When I would go for my lunchtime walks, I wouldn't make eye contact with anyone. Now I try to smile and say hello to everyone I meet. Start out with the older people - maybe 50 and up. They were the…

In Buffalo, where wings originated, we could the flats and drums separately. If you order 12 wings, you get 6 of each.
-
Good morning. I'm Buffalo born and bred and if there is one thing we know around here its wings! When we do wings on the grill (blasphemy around here, by the way - lol!) I usually throw a boneless skinless chicken breast on the grill for myself and just baste that with Frank's hot sauce. You can add a little butter too if…
