Mind you. I have to say, I quite often get a imp after breakfast. When we went away I had an omlette (it was at a French restaurant so maybe a bit of fat was involved!) but I felt very sleepy after that too. I think my best bet is not havibg much, or very little In the mornings. Thanks for your thoughts, I've recovered now…

Guilty face... I think I must be trying to justify it... I guess it's a couple of teaspoons of sugar too and quite a bit of fat. I better just a few squares in future! Thank you for answering I know it's a bit naught but I was curious as to whether it was a low blood glucose reaction... I didn't feel sick just as I said…

By the way, I get that I completely deserve this :-) Yes you see another coffee hasn't helped.... I don't get this if I just have one black coffee... or just a tiny square - ph I dp sound pathetic don't I?! It wasn't a binge as such (binges for me feel frantic and out of control) I just thought stuff it "i'll eat the lot"…
-
Ah I chose a green and blacks 85 percent bar... So it's fine quality. I do appreciate I ate a lot , whoops. It wAs a premeditated conscious decision and I deserve to be a bit fatter but the tiredness has been awful
-
Sorry I mean tto say it wasn't an out of control binge it was a self aware "ok I'm going to eat the lot" naughty gluttony surge.

This may be random but I also realised I'm wuite spoilt I like my day to be planned and have something to look forward to each day. I noticed when my brother came to stay, a sports mad academic with no food issues whatsoever, eats healthily and will have a slice of cake of its offered type of guy, and he couldn't stand…

Hi ems212 that's great. I think preplanning is essential I think I theove I a routine. I find it really hard when we have guests and food is everywhere and people like you to eat more with them! IThis is encouraging to hear you have overcome bingeung. What do you do to lift your mood when you feel flat?
-
Thank you for clarifying... Jesus would probably tell me to give it the poor and overeating is gluttony...
-
Ah... I see.

This was very, very reassuring! I suppose it's relative isn't it... ? I suppose bingeing an dovereating was putting my health at risk... and I am much less productive during the day when I am just craving more food...

Very, very good points. I struggle when my son is ill, or we have other children here and I have to stay in ad look after them.. I haven't worked that out yet! If I had my way, the cupboards wouldn't be full of bread etc but I don't live alone! It's ironic, it actually means quite a lot to me to feel well, have energy and…
-
I also meant to say I used to binge at breakfast ... since just having my coffee /protein bar my energy levels have lifted compared with when I had porridge each morning- bizarre!
-
Ah good question Yoovie, I don't eat only at night but that's when I have my largest meal. I definitely have to eat something during the day but it suits me better to eat more at night otherwise I can't sleep! If I eat too much during the day I find I feel very sleepy so I eat light in the day, but my coffee will be a…

That's reassuring and encouraging..!

Good point. Although types of food I binge on are packs of bagels, cereals not the expensive stuff... but, this routine does work for me... maybe I should just get Starbucks shares..
-
Yes it is indulgent isn't it? guilty feeling all over... I don't think it's just the coffee though _ i do absolutely love it though, and Iook forward to that, and I sip it slowly .. I think it's just being around other people (can be intense with just me and the little one, and I am not very good when at home alone with…

Ah nice, I can relate... I'm afraid I go for the cappuccino's though - a bit of a meal in a cup. I get claustrophobia just staying in too.
-
I don't understand sorry.

Useg Really useful comments guys thank you. I keep toying with the idea of ketogenic bit wonder if I'm just food obsessed and need to get my mind enjoying other activities more- unfortunately, I love food, all food. I definitely suspect having breakfast makes me hungrier. If I just have a milky coffee I find my appetite is…

This! I I've chocolate ice cream too :-) but it's safe from the binge monster :/)
-
Than thank you for your recommendatio. I'm in the uk though..
-
I'm sorry you have the binge eating too but thank ful for your honesty- I'm exactly the same - chocolate ice cream sits safely in my freezer, how bizarre is that.
-
Useful :-) thanks. Cereal and bread, my two key things I struggle with. Don't ask me why, I get the sugar thing but I can binge on porridge at certain times. Branflakes, I have recently found, are worse than any chocolate bar I have ever had, in triggering a binge. Don't ask me why! It's generally cereals, I should imagine…

To be honest I just think there are two weeks of the month all carbs are a danger zone (I haven't been restricting or intentionally avoiding carbs- I buy portions or a ready made sandwich each day (false economy for me to buy a loaf!) but it's just the madness of such healthy foods seeming irresiatable, it's just that mmmm…
-
This is useful! Thank you. I noticed if I cut my sandwich up mid afternoon and have a long hot drink afterwards I can do moderation, but then I don't give myself the option, I only buy one sandwich! I think your idea is great, however, I feel like the greedy me may just dive in and et handfuls when I'm feeling in the mood-…

Apologies for all the typos folks, I'm using an iPhone and that combined with poor typing skills and intermittent Internet connection is proving problematic! I think my message is clear though, what is alien to my family is even healthy stuff I have hedonistic tendencies, I would say my craving to eat loads of cereals is…

Wonderful advice - thank you. I am going to have to accept, like you say glasshalffull, there will always be an occasion, I have a young child/step/relatives and we will always have guests staying at certain times. To digress slightly, it's interesting that food is such an emotive issue, not just to those of us with…
-
I'm sorry you are like this too. I'm definitely noticing there are either leavers or takers with food. Bingeing is so different to just "being a bit naughty and eating an extra slice or two". I have tracked my bingeing though and it is a LOT worse prior to TOM, in fact two weeks I'm under control as it were. I also find…

Ah I tried the "I eat enough chocolate I'm a bit full up" line and she said " a little won't hurt, come on" it's my own fault I should have explained, but I felt embarrassed.

Hmmm yes I was thinking scrambled eggs and smoked salmon for lunch - I think she likes that.... But she will need bread with it ... Yes good advice thank you x
