I am definitely struggling with the 3pm I want to eat all in the house thing... thanks so much for your support guys x

Thank you x

Thank you for the great support on here. I had had some stressful news this am- nothing major but enough to make me feel really anxious and then with the tiredness too I was reaching for coffee- and I think caffeine (although a stimulant) made me feel Much more anxious. So there were emotional and physiological triggers.…

Hi guys, Thanks for responding. 6 oat cakes on a pack (12 x 50) + 350 kcal green and blacks (slightly over 50g guesstimate) + used one pint semi skimmed milk (not sure kcal) and Greek yogurt one pot (160 kcal) .... So think that brings me to about 1500 kcal (I think! Let me know if you think I have overestimated :-) ). I…

You have my sympathies, I'm exactly the same. I have to portion off foods for myself. It can be very complex getting to the bottom of why we eat and preventing it. For me, once I start bingeing it's hard to stop so binge avoidance is my best bet. I don't know if this will help you but what has also been huge for me is…

mwyvr - I am looking after little people today but really wish I had the chance to have gone for a run, I find a run curbs my binger attitude too (it increases my hunger though.... if that makes sense, i.e stops emotional eating but true hunger...). Steamed fish and rice. ah ha now it's just portion sizes..oooo looked…

Guys... big thanks! It will be one of the salads I think with the rice (they do steamed) . I am staying well away from the noodles (after advice on here and I have heard they are huge portions and quite oily too). Shrinklinglett ah you see I like tom yum but it's too light for me (I am a BIG eater - so have to be careful…

This was a really useful post thank you. I have to buy some foods for other memento of the family but it can be false economy as I will often eat them. I also try and eat slowly and usually with a long milky drink, sounds odd but makes it last. Pls forgive me if I'm wrong but you sound like you may have the tendency to…

Very useful advice, thank you. I think cutting out the dark chocolate was a mistake- I love it, eat too much of it but don't bibge on it like I do bread and cereal. I brought some teacakes (bread with raisins) freshly baked for my husband and I just had the urge to eat them all- yet I don't enjoy them like I would when you…

Coffee does help for sure - but like other have said, I have to address what to do when at home... alone with a poorly little one... I was reading some scientific articles on binge eating and they say ou have to find other things you enjoy...

HI, yes I have already seen the therapists (I know I'm mad!) but I'm just stuck with the two issues in the Fairburn book which make me think it doesn't apply to me, I have probably posted on the wrong boards, so apologies if this is all alien to you all.

You see it comes down to brain tricks, I felt so dishearted with weight gain over the past few weeks I cut down on the veggies and notice I'm eating more bread/pasta/cake
-
Hmmm I guess this is logical! Mind you; 500 grams is quite filling but when you think I may add salmon a small roll of bread, other veg or quinoa with it, although healthy, ends up being a calorific lunch. Thank you for replying.

Hi Mark, thank you for posting. I can see from your photos you have had progress!!! Were you the "eat the whole loaf" type or did you just eat the wrong sort of things. I am definitely a binge eater, I have friends round and they all have one slice of cake and I am in a state of euphoria working out how I can stuff the lot…

I just hope we will be able to do this. At the moment, I think of food all day. I try and be liberal with myself and find I just eat and eat. When everyone else has finished, I think about having more, I think it may correlate with low mood too. Skinny Jess well done to get where you are.
-
What great responses, thank you. Skinny, well done. I am definitely an emotional eater but also I just love food, I eat vast quantities of certain foods if I have unlimited access. I don't really feel full when eating these foods I just seem to go into a euphoric frenzy and that's something that is- will be- very hard, as…

well done x

I'm sure you have always been beautiful lol. I didn't mention beauty though... my worries with weight go beyond the aesthetic these days (I gave up on the aesthetic years ago ;-)) lol

ps I am sorry about the lack of punctuation - my keyboard has failed me! -

I would like to join, thank you. This would be amazing as I can't attend a local Overeaters group and have nowhere else to go apart from MFP.

This is interesting! thanks for posting guys.

so helpful. I'm always trying to be like others, to be normal, I've always been the "if I have one slice, I want the lot" type and I really don't think this will ever change. Whenever I deviate from my own plan, to be like my professional friends or follow the advice of my medical friends it all goes wrong!

Great advice thank you- that has influenced my dinner choice this eve ;-) Just a quick question, would anyone advise non running cardio to help with the weekly runs... I just didn't want to do too much running but really love park run so don't want to give it up!
-
This is great advice especially as I have "dicky" knees. I'm quite a frantic person though so I am not sure I can make myself stay still for long enough but I need to be more patient!
-
Thank you!
-
100th run, well done! Thank you for the words of encouragement
-
Ok after illness and knee pain I'm back with the park run thing... I found it to be a great community and lazybuthealthy - loads of people walk/ran... including me. I like the idea of trying to improve each week, that's my motivation, not a negative thing. Having a goal seems exciting... I'll do it despite the sore…

Indeed langur monkey, although hoping you like eggs, always a good option! I do think being self aware is so important.

i will be interested in watching the horizon programme though !

I know the daily mail is obviously the reference point for all nutritional info... Ha but I do think, getting to the route of why one person eats too much allows them to work out trigger times and points to put an action plan on place. I think discipline comes in waves for me, if I rely solely on discipline, I can't cope…
