Totally do not agree with this - if it fits into your calories eat all you want......

Fantastic job - and yah for helping your knees in the process!! I love both those dresses too - which I went to places I could dress up in stunning dresses like that ;-) By the way I had a knee replacement 4 weeks ago, so know what you are facing with your knees and training :-)

I log everything during the week, but take some logging breaks most weekends - sort of helps with not looking obsessive when you are spending time with other people......also just check things like sitting at the table logging etc..... Something that also worked for me was to spend some time in the morning pre-planning my…

Totally agree - I lost my first 120lbs just cutting calories and getting my butt off the couch.....Simple calories in vs calories out.... I now follow a Paleo lifestyle, and IF, but make very sure that I tell any person that want to friend me that this is not actually how I lost the majority of my weight!! The lifestyle…

I mostly weigh my food - measuring using cups can be very hit&miss in my experience

That is one of the biggest benefits of protein for me - it really satiates me - and lasts longest...... Personally would not say a protein shake makes me feel "totally stuffed" though.... As I mostly drink them right after a workout my body just thanks me that I am feeding it ;-)

I sometimes think people are looking too hard for the "magic bullet"..... My advice is keep it simple - for most people the effect of when you eat will be absolutely minimal.....it is more important in my book to be consistent day in and day out in WHAT you eat rather than when..... Make sure you measure everything, and…

Yep - People always said I have such lovely skin - and look so much younger than I am - a lot of that was thanks to all the lovely fat plumping up my cheeks ;-) I am a bit older than you (51) so there is definitely more pronounced "laugh lines" on my face (and the rest of my body) The good news is that over the past year I…

When I first started I lost 2 lbs a week on a 1800 calorie a day - and did very little exercise......if I did exercise I ate back about 50% of my extra calories - so would eat closer to 2000 calories.... Over time I dropped to 1500 calories a day - increased my exercise to 5 to 6 times a week - and still ate back 50 to 75%…

So you have gone pretty low carb (except for some fruit and yoghurt??) That would cause quite a bit of water weight loss, and yes - if you start incorporating higher carbs back in some of that water weight comes back..... it is not right or wrong - just a fact of the first week of low carb ...... going forward the effect…

BMI is a load of crock for most people - even my GP say that...... You will know looking at your body what is right - when you get into the healthy range the scale and BMI charts are not always the best indicator..... I also question if any stay at home parent is truly sedentary - my guess is not at all based on what I see…

One thing to remember - you are in control.... If you start gaining weight, you can always drop down your calories again.....So don't be scared :-) Do this bit by bit - maybe up 150 calories for a couple of weeks - and then up 150 calories again.... You might pick up a bit of weight when you first increase your calories,…

Sorry - it's a donut - not the end of the world.... Because you are on a journey to health and fitness does not necessarily mean every other person in your office must now stop eating donuts....in a perfect world maybe - but then hey - we do not live and work in a perfect world - so what to do!! In a healthy balanced diet…

You are never too old to start again - I did when I was 50 - it's like riding a bike.... I got myself a personal trainer to help me get going, and set up some programs for me, so I now can work out on my own, or sometimes with him to kick my butt, challenge my boundaries - when I want to go up with weights I would normally…

Personally I normally go to " maintenance" when I am on holiday - especially with friends & family...... These things happen - it is called life..... Personally I would not support my 14 year old daughter to go that extreme (if I had one) , but that is your choice in the end of the day. Please make very sure that you u understand the potential down sides to a diet high in soy products.... This is just one link, but there are others if you google "soy issues"....…

Love the Kindle reader on my iPad.......and the convenience of downloading books - great way to take a selection of books on holiday....Last year in Fiji everyone ran out of books to read - my only problem was the iPad running out of power as everyone was playing Angry Birds, and the generators on the island was only…
