  • I'm willing to give it a try, but I won't set myself up for an unrealistic expectation of achieving this. I'm on day 9 of my new lifestyle and haven't dropped a single pound yet, so I feel like I'm due for a sharp drop-off once the water weight or whatever is messing with me goes!
  • I'm an office worker, and my biggest problem is that we have a kitchen fully stocked with horrible snacks. I make sure to always have some fruit, nuts, and cans of V8 so I can treat the urge to snack. I do go overboard with the nuts sometimes and end up over my fat for the day, but it's still better than chips.
  • It's still fat, and too much of anything is a bad thing, but coconut oil is wonderful for cooking in moderation. I'm vegan, and tend to use coconut oil where other people might use butter. It's great on popcorn (as has already been mentioned), and for sauteed veggies. It can handle high heat better than olive oil.
  • I've been vegan for about 10 years now, and am just starting out here on MFP. I lost so much weight when I went vegan that I figured I didn't need to care about what I eat.
