Feel free to add me! I've been around these parts for about 8 months and I'm not going anywhere. I'll be supportive! :)

I joined the group. Thanks everyone for the input, I really appreciate it! Nothing like starting something new to make yourself feel completely clueless haha. But this all really helped and I'm really excited to get started officially and start adding weight.

After I figured out how it worked, I thought it was really cool. Pretty much all I know at the moment is that it's an olympic bar on a cable with a pressure sensor. It will only release if you are firmly gripped to the pressure sensor, otherwise the bar is locked in place. There's also a bar for lat pull downs and a bunch…

Okay let me clarify and apologize - I'm not trying to shoo away people older than 20s at all - and I'm sorry if that came off rude. So let me start over lol. Any and all weight lifting ladies are appreciated :)

Yeah I was just looking into those since the smallest plates down in the gym are the 2.5's. Thanks! :)

Definitely up your intake or you could damage your metabolism (notice I didn't use the controversial words "starvation mode"). 1200 calories isn't enough unless you are 5' tall and very petite. Please take this advice and calculate your TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) using the calculator at iifym.com or any other…

Welcome back to MFP, feel free to add me! I too believe that slow, steady, and healthy is the most important way to do it. Also anyone who is looking for active friends feel free to add me, I'm on every day and love interacting with others who log daily :)

I'm 23, always looking for more friends my age who are active in logging every day!

Hello! I've lost just about 50 pounds since March of this year. Slow, steady, and sensible will get you there. Feel free to add me and if you need any advice I'd be happy to help!

I agree with the above poster that a better term is "whole foods." So basically making your meals as simple as possible using few ingredients and making sure they are fresh and not from a package. For example one of my go-to lunches is a grilled chicken breast on a bed of spinach and topped with black beans. That's 3…

I was overweight all my life and never thought I would EVER be able to lose weight. However when I found this site and started tracking calories, after sticking with it for a couple months I noticed that it was really working. Also reaching out and networking with friends is a big help because if you find the right people,…

Also their 90 calorie brownies are really good. Ideally I'd like them to be about 4 times bigger haha but they work really well for my sweets cravings!
-
I like original Special K with light vanilla almond milk. It's not overpoweringly sweet which is good. Also multigrain Cheerios!

I think they are delicious but I don't eat them. I think they are expensive for what you get and I'd rather have something fresh like plain greek yogurt with berries for a protein/carb snack rather than something that has been processed and sits on a shelf for months. However if you are really in a pinch I think they are…

Yes, a calorie deficit is all that matters but make sure you are getting adequate nutrition with your macros and aren't netting lower than your BMR.

That is awesome! I wish I had the time to do that, and sewing is a great skill to have that is dying off.

I've been overweight my entire life and I want to know what it's like to be thin and have a flat stomach. I want to be strong and muscular. I want to look great for my wedding in Spring 2016. I want to wear a bikini for the first time ever. I want to be able to do strenuous things (yardwork, etc) without getting exhausted.

I rarely eat out and cook all my own meals except for maybe once or twice a week at most I'll get lunch or dinner out. But it's still a challenge for me because I love salt, it makes food delicious. Cooking with fresh foods will reduce it a lot, like many other posters said, but certain spices and seasonings contain a LOT…

Since I prefer to do the majority of my workouts outside, yes the weather does get me down. Already with it getting cold and rainy out, I haven't been exercising as much as usual although I'm still getting 4-5 days per week. Since I can't afford a gym membership (and since I'm introverted and would be very uncomfortable at…

Hey! We have basically the same stats, it's actually a little scary! Haha. I am 23, 5'5", started around 215 and am currently 167. Feel free to add me, I try to be as supportive as I can, let's keep this thing going!

When I was growing up, I always had access to junk food and as long as I can remember I've had an intense sweet tooth. I played some sports in elementary school but I hated them so I stopped and instead replaced that time with watching television while shoving various horrible foods in my face. When I got into my teens and…

I've read a lot about measuring body fat % and it really is difficult to get an accurate reading. You saw yourself how you can get multiple answers that vary drastically depending on which method you use. Generally visual approximation will be your best bet. Google "women's body fat percentage" and check out the images and…

I have only shopped at Goodwill/Salvation Army all year and sometimes they have crap, other times they have good clothes, it's a toss up. But it's always worth looking. Also try eBay, a lot of people sell their old clothes in lots that can save you money. If you get brand name clothes at Goodwill, you can try to resell…

Same thing happened to me at work. Someone asked me what my secret was. I told her there is no secret, I'm just watching what I eat and getting exercise 5-6 times per week. Her reaction was basically "...Oh." No one wants to accept that they have to put in dedication and patience to get healthy.

Meeee! I just joined your group. I'm currently 167 and want to hit my first goal weight of 150 by xmas or the end of the year. We can do this!!

I do pictures and measurements on the 1st of every month as well as weighing in once a week. If you've only been working at it a month, give it more time to start seeing the results more clearly. Personally it took a few months before I really saw clear results.

Hey! Bride-to-be here and I'm also losing weight in time for the wedding but more importantly in time to start trying on dresses this Spring. At first this started out as a weight loss for the wedding, but I realize I should have done this soooo long ago! Anyhow my wedding is in 2016 and I have 20-30lbs to go. Feel free to…

I use Stevia in the Raw packets and would definitely recommend them. I put one packet in plain greek yogurt with berries and it's perfect. I use 1/2 pack in a mug of green tea. I haven't tried it with coffee but I imagine it would be fine, I prefer this to every other sweetener I've tried, I even prefer it to pure sugar.

Amazing job! That is truly an incredible and motivational transformation.
