  • Hey y'all. Spent 10 hrs in the ER today with my oldest. Likely to be a high-stress week ahead. So so glad I prepped a week's worth of meals again. Here's hoping we can eat them together as a family. We appreciate prayers and positive energy. Welcome, more new Cool Kids!
  • Congrats, Larro, on the new family member. Where my parents have a home in Avon Park, it was in the 30s this morning. Did you drop down to freezing? (Of course they are off snowmobiling the wilds of Michigan @ -22 F so I guess the cold doesn't faze them!) I've been maintaining weight well, but it is probably time to pare…
  • Hey, y'all - I love the al dente legs phrase!! I'm going to work out for al dente body parts from now on. And - it's time to do so. See you later, C kids.
  • Congrats, sdereski! Curious, I've always wanted to go out whale watching. Majorly jealous! Maybe someday, yet. Beeps, unfortunately wet noodles have dried out kinda crunchy and painful. Lol. I'm sure the next workout will cause more squishy noodlage, however. Welcome, everyone. Stick around. It's nice here.
  • Beeps, I did Daily Burn's Hips, Butt, Thighs. Somewhere along the way, my legs became wet noodles! Boom! :D We here in Hampton Roads, VA are getting our first snow of the year. To a girl raised in Ohio, it seems like the natives think it's Snowpacolypse and all I see so far is a light covering. I don't think I'm going to…
  • So, I have mostly recovered from my cold (Blech), and needed a grocery trip badly. I tried once-a-month-meal prep for my family of five in January and it worked fairly decently. We also made it last almost six weeks using up leftovers. But, the fresh fruit and veggies were limited. So I shopped and prepped a week-in-a-day…
  • Been fighting off a cold - not counting calories, drinking lots of fluids, and no cardio or strength. :stuck_out_tongue: Hope you are all well.
  • I agree that doing anything is GREAT! The only reason I'm adding the cardio in is because of the inspiration here. And I think I needed time to build my mental energy even more than my physical energy. So, build yours up and I'll cheer! Go, Syli!
  • Hey all y'all with the hours of kettle bell and cardio twice a day - Does it ever stop making you sore?!? I've been adding in cardio gradually, but wanted to do some muscle building as well. I've done two days of CardioSculpt from Daily Burn (modified version!) and I'm sore and grumpy. This is not how I want to gain muscle.
  • Alf and FEves, I'm an SLP who stands in awe of your parenting accomplishments. I have a small success this week: down three pounds at weigh-in. This is my first loss in months following a move and job change. I credit y'all and your cardio posts. I got off my butt and added some low-impact cardio. Thanks!
  • I'm always over on sugar and under on protein. I've decided that as long as there is a reasonable amount of nutrition with my sugar, I'm not going to beat myself up. I guess I could change my goal composition? Sdereski, I'm really glad you had a thorough workout. I may have had too many puppies in my life, though, because…
  • Athens1000, Hi! It really stinks when medicine that helps in one way messes up another. I've been there, and I'll cheer you on, even if I still need to lose my medical-issue weight. Syligirl, Can you bribe yourself with something you do love? Two workouts this week = a movie, or one 30 min workout = a glass of wine? For…
  • Joanna, My chocolate cravings are such that I simply plan them in to multiple snacks daily. I make my own chocolate syrup using raw local honey, for the immune boost and the calorie control, and I don't try to avoid chocolate at all - I just work to limit it. I've found that if I tell myself to wait 1/2 hour before that…
  • I did it! I did my first cardio (non yoga) workout in months. 30 minutes of success! (Much better day today, pain-wise.) Alf - you must have an unbelievable pain tolerance! KellySue - 40 minutes of shoveling! Congrats! Nikon - Awesome. Thanks, Cool Kids. See ya later!
  • Hey, y'all. I'm so glad most are having positive weeks. I have not, particularly. No weight gain, but no loss, and little exercise due to some high pain levels. Hopefully, the next week will be better. Squeamish men look away. Ladies, this is day 9 of a period that is supposed to start tomorrow. Found out Tuesday that I'll…
  • Larro, I count my calories because chocolate. Unobserved, it (or spice cake) can magically stack weight on you! Sneaky.
  • I'll join the conversation. Let's see if I can remember to check in! I'm 41, mom of three, dog-mom of two, full-time worker who is (truly) gluten-sensitive. I don't mind eating healthy, but my motivation for exercise is nonexistant. So my weight is coming off more slowly than I'd like, and I am not as strong or fit as I'd…
