• Awesome job! You are never too old to take care of yourself. I'm 48 and in the best shape of my life. When I turn 50 I want people to say "Wow, she's 50"? I'm sure the same applys to you. I have just a few suggestions on your strenght training. If working out 6 days a week you should lift every other day and do your cardio…
•
nope, I don't think it will get easier. We will only get used to the torture. LOL
I find that I start liking the torture! My goal is to finish Pure Cardio without stopping. I'm close but I find that workout to be the most challenging, even more that the second month of workouts! Diana
• Umm...I don't think it ever gets easier you just get better! LOL...I still find these workouts challenging.
• You are doing good! I hate switch kicks myself! I'm in my third round of Insanity, keep it up you will love the results. Diana
• You have to add strenght training to your cardio. I'm sure you have heard that muscle burns fat. Well, you can't "spot burn" fat in one certain area of your body. So, do a strength workout every other day. Work on your larger muscle groups first then the smaller groups. Cardio and crunches alone won't do it. Diana
• I like to make my own and use a lot of receipes off of the P90X nutrition guide. If you make your own, you know what's in it an you know there are no preservatives. You can find the guide book for free on several sites, just google it. My favorite is the balsamic vinaigrette: 1 1/2 cups balsamic vinegar 2 tbls lemon juice…
• As with anything you eat the key is moderation. Deli meat is high in sodium and their bread is high in sodium as well. When I know I'm going to have to eat out somewhere, I always check their website and choose the least harmful item. I won't say most healthy because there is way too much sodium. It's not always about…
• Ran three miles today. Having a little one myself I can't imagine how one can harm such little innocent angles. May God Bless all of those children out there who need love and attention and to bring someone into their lives to stop the abuse.
• Like everyone has stated here, get a HRM. There is nothing close in the data base that comes close to the amount of calories you will burn. In the first series of workouts (35-40 mins), I burn anywhere from 525-625 calories. Good Luck if you decide to get INSANITY. I love it!
• Smarty Pants! I should have said naturals foods don't containe chlorine! :)
• It has to do with "thermogenesis" When your body consumes calories it signals your body temp to rise after a meal because it takes energy to digest food. Therefore, consumption of artificial sweeteners had stoped your body's normal responses to sweet foods, making it harder for the body to burn off extra calories. Normally,…
• Nature doesn't make anything with phenylalanine or chlorine either.
• Here is another great article on the subject of artifical sweetners. I pose the question, why would you want to consume anything artifical to begin with? http://www.teambeachbody.com/about/newsletters/-/nli/58
• Hello! My son will be three in October and I finally decided to lose the weight beginning in Febuary. I know it's tough when you have a little one, I would much rather play with him than workout! You can do it though. I had my son late in life so it was important for me to stay healthy for him. On those days I don't want…
• Thanks for the info. I think I'm going to have to try these!
• When starting new exercises I know I'm going to be sore from I take Glutamine and a BCAA tablet. These suppliments help your muscles repair more quickly eliminating the soreness.
• Another reason for being cold is not eating enough calories if you are excercising. You body requires a set amount of energy for basic functions, if it is not getting enough by the way of food it will start to take away from certain functions. Here is an explantaion I found: You can go for months and months and months…
• sashalarue-Another reason you want to eat your excercise calories back is because if you are not eating enough, your body goes into starvation mode and you don't lose any weight. It holds on to the fat because you are not feeding it. If you are excercising never be afraid to give your body what it needs. While in…
• Congratulations! Yes, you did earn it. It's not easy to get through those nine weeks. Keep Going!
• I'm a member and have been since since 2004. I have Slim in 6, Power Half Hour, Power 90, P90X & Insanity. I'm getting ready to begin a hybrid workout of P90x & Insanity tomorrow! Friend me if you would like: Orfiregirl.
• I know it's frustrating to keep going when you don't see the results. You need to adjust your calories, you are not eating enough since you are working out. You need to figure out how many calories you are burning durning exercise, the tool provide on this site gives you a general idea but if you are doing cardio, I…
