  • Sensible answer? Me. I'm a big boy and nobody had forced me to become a 40 year old, smoking, lard *kitten* who couldn't run for a bus. Tongue in cheek answer? Every sick and twisted P.E. (or gym to ya over the pond dudes) teacher. I was tall, skinny, and thin as a thin thing at school. Did they encourage me to take up…

  • Mon - Weds - Fri are gym days, usually for about 70 mins of cardio (35 mins steady state, 35 mins intervals) and between 30 - 60 mins of lifting. Tues and Thurs are either running or cycling days, plus a long ride one weekend day (usually Sunday), unless I'm on call, then I try and squeeze a run in, as I can a quick 5K in…
  • Good for you, that's brilliant, and I am pleased that you are feeling so great about your achievement ~ I hope it spurs you on. I don't know what it is about running outside, but I always get a massive buzz when I complete an outside run that I don't get doing the same distance on the treadmill! :-)
  • I've found Fitnessblender videos really helpful.

  • +1 for this. I put them all in a plastic container and freeze them, then once I have 3, put them in my large crock pot with root veggies, onions, celery, top up to the top with water and cook on low for 8 hours. I get about 5-6 pints of really good stock (broth) that I then freeze in half pint batches and use when I want…
