  • Ive been craving "crunch" for awhile, although at this point post-op I still cant have any :broken_heart: These are great ideas for future reference, Thanks!
  • Well, my arms don't worry me, Ive always been pretty muscular in my arms but not so much in my legs. While I realize that it may be awhile before I notice any real significant difference in my mid section, only being 5 weeks out I know its hard to see a clear view of the future but I believe in due time I will get there.…
  • I feel your discomfort! I just started incorporating soft cooked veggies and for the past few weeks all Ive wished for was to crunch on something...anything :cold_sweat: I told my husband don't be shocked if I turn zombie and start chewing on his (chicken) finger...everything tastes like chicken, right
  • IDK about the vitamin shoppe, Ive heard someone else mention that place before but Ive never heard of it till I saw it posted on here! Thanks  I wonder what the cost is per bag...if its worth the cost of ordering
  • Its great when others have tried a product and give it an honest review! Id love to try these...is it only GNC that carries them cause the 1 grocery store we looked at didn't have them  I also love the satisfaction of "crunch" At this point I don't care what its coming from...a carrot, apple, chips but I LOVE the idea…
  • Yeah, the whole protein intake has been hard to swallow! Although Im 5 wks out now, I also still end up supplementing w/ a shake by the end of the evening just to get close(r) to the 70 which is what my surgeon has said is the minimum  Its like a non ending cycle of every day having the same worry about…
  • Do you all like the site? Ive not heard of it but I just now took a quick look, thanks for the heads up!
  • Thanks Amy :awesome:
  • I also read about these chips on another thread! I am sooo interested, #1 as another way to get my protein #2 a portable way to get my protein! I have some bars that I started collecting pre-op that Ive picked up here and there as I find coupons/sales on them. My other "obligation" is getting bars that can pass my surgeons…
  • Is there a way for someone to gauge how many cals they should be getting in post-op? Im 4'2 and the last time I was weighed by the surgeon (1 week out post op) I was 164. I am now into my 5th week so Im clearly able to get in more cals and protein but I don't know what amount of cals is appropriate for me. Pre-surgery my…
  • Thanks, I will have to look into these, as Im always on the lookout for different ways to get my protein in! I have some bars that Ive picked up here and there but Im not allowed to have them yet (Im 5 wks out) and I have to abide by the surgeons regulations on staying under Cals, Sugar and having so much protein per bar.…
  • Thanks Bivanusro! I guess Im just feeling anxious because of the way I was talked down to and made to feel awful, especially only having been 1 wk out at that point  I am now at 5 wks starting today and although Im close(R) to my required (70 being the lowest recommended...I know I said 75 in my earlier post), I…
  • Thanks Jemp, we didn't get a "starter" kit, although that sounds like a great idea! Thank goodness it was the dr's suggestions for those that couldn't take the pills. I don't know what I would've done otherwise w/ the other things that I already have to take that only comes in pill form
  • 60 lbs...whoa, what?!?!? Not quite there yet....mentally (trying not to wrap my mind around that 1) or physically...LMAO!!
  • Thanks Bikrchk! Just going by your pic, clearly you've done well for yourself
  • I haven't bought any pre-made...I use the pure protein, my husband says I tend to favor the chocolate 1...lol! The vanilla is mild so Ive been adding a little banana for a little extra flavor and for that little extra bit of protein. I also add PB2 to both of these and my current almond milk has 70 cals for 1 cup with 6…
  • So...what does you husband think of all your new moves
  • My 1st day/night I was in the ICU w/out a roommate...thank goodness but the bathroom was super tiny. The next (late) afternoon I was moved out of the ICU and was brought to another floor. This room was huge...actually had a couch bed whereas the ICU room had this piddly pullout chair, felt awful for my husband but this…
  • Oh you poor thing Jamez...I feel your pain about not getting pregnant :D
  • Hi Bikrchk! You have done so well...congrats  I have not been losing hair the way I hear others talk...or at least not more than the usual in the hairbrush...thank goodness! Without the scale, I know I have lost weight because I can no longer wear my wedding bands, my bra fits different, my back is smoothER, not…
  • Heres hoping the best for you! Good luck and come back to us as soon as youre able :relieved:
  • Darn! This looked so neat
  • Paul...were you kidding when you wrote that about wanting to drop that much weight, for someone your height?!? Im 4'2 and although for a child at my height Id be around 75lbs, clearly Im an adult (w/ a chest) and so Id like to weigh about 90lbs but my Dr said 100 was a good "healthy" weight for me!
  • I tried...Im only 4'2 in height so it wouldn't let me
  • Good to see you found us Commissionette! Take the time to read up on the threads, theres a bit of info for everyone from someone
  • Jemp, what are your chewable irons called and where are you finding them at? I have a hard time swallowing certain meds...sometimes its the (medicine/vitamin) smell, sometimes its due to size, pretty much for different reasons. Right now some of my vitamins are in chewable/gummy form but I haven't found the iron in gummy…
  • 1st, I can tell that you are mature...simply because it takes a lot of maturity to save and hold onto that kind of money, most "kids" see it & spend it :disappointed: You've had a long (& determined) goal of what you wanted and how you were going to get it, good job for sticking through it! Because of ALL that you've done…
  • I feel odd reaching out to a group solely dedicated on stomach surgery. That's like saying you went to your regular Dr instead of seeking a specialist  Theres reasons why there are special groups for this type of situation...because They can relate! Id go there because its a group of camaraderie but you go…
  • Kate, I read where you said I have known a lot of people who get stir crazy once they start feeling better and want to chew real food, and they start chewing off-limits solid food and spitting it out without swallowing. Yesterday while grocery shopping, I told my husband that Im not thinking "junk" food in the moment as…
  • My diet before my surgery (a few wks ago) was to eat high protein/low carbs. 2 wks before surgery I wasn't allowed to have potatoes, rice, pasta, bread, of course no sweets and the Dr even wanted us to not have fruit! The day before was only clear, nothing creamy or w/ color, like cream or tomato soup(s) and it had to be…
