Did You Have To Drink Chaulky Stuff To Get X-Rayed
I went in for my informational group meeting and individual Dr/Patient meeting. We were informed that before being discharged we would have to endure drinking some stuff and then sent off to get x-rayed as a way for them to see that theres no leaks from where the surgery was done. Has anyone else done this or heard of…

Had Surgery 10/16....
I had my surgery a few days ago. This is Not to discourage those that haven't gone through it yet, only to make you fully aware of what I went through. If you are faint of heart, you may really want to take some more time to fully think things over 1st, I have little small veins so it was hard for them to get me started on…

Where Did You Lose Your Weight?
I had my 1 week post-op appt last Fri, Id lost 14 lbs in my 1st week BUT, where from?!? This was my 1st day venturing out since having come home from surgery so I hadn't really paid much attention to clothing. Since we were already out, we decided to get our grocery shopping done, yes, my husband still expects to eat "his"…

Constipation and Weight Loss....
From a previous thread some posters have been "irregular" and have even mentioned being on a stall. Just curious if 1 might go in hand with the other... If theyre not releasing their stools, could the scales be reflecting the weight of that? Especially the longer they hold it in their system....just wondering!

Weighing In At Appts...
I had my 1 week post-op appt and tomorrow I will have my 1 month. Ive been debating on not eating before my appt. similar to peoples morning routine...use the bathroom then weigh themselves. The problem is my appt is not till 12 but theyre always running late so it will probably be closer to 12:30/1PM (IDK why they…

My scale lies to me :'-(
I bought a digital weight watchers scale right before surgery. I was super excited to have this as a way to keep notice of my weight and even more super excited to watch the #'s go down. Today when I went in for my 1 month (technically 5 week) post op, I was in shock when their digital scale showed a bigger number than the…

Where did YOU 1st notice your weight loss?!?
I haven't yet been told that I "look" like I have lost weight...honestly, I don't know how Id react! Last weekend running into someone who hadn't seen me in yrs (back when my husband used to play ball and Id go with him to watch), this person asked me how my health was. The way he asked almost implied like he thought I was…

Carbs vs Protein....
Most of you know that my world has slowly started to open up w/ being able to have more choices in solids. The problem has been not just trying to get in my required amount (70 minimum) which can be a hit or miss but more times than not my carbs have exceeded past my protein. So it seems that I have compounded the issue,…

Lab Work...
If an A1C can detect as far back as 3 months how does it work for protein results? When I went in on my 1 week post-op, I was very honest and told the office lady that IMO I was doing good on getting in the 1/2 required as I was struggling to even get that amount. She was not at all sympathetic and came across rather…
-
Your Protein Numbers...
I was wondering what your protein intake was before surgery, what you were really able to get yourself to get in after surgery and where its at now? I actually did struggle with getting an adequate amount of protein before surgery, when I initially started the process for the surgery. I worked really hard at keeping the…

How Many Follow Up Appts. Did You Have Post-Op?
I had my 1st post-op appt last Fri (about 1 week after having my Sleeve done). My next 1 will be 1 month from that date, so Nov 24th. I cant find it in my info when to expect my next 1 at how many months out. I want to say maybe 6 months but Im drawing a blank  I was wondering how many times in the 1st yr post-op…

Going Out To Eat Post-Op....
Before my surgery last week, my husband and I had a routine. All the "experts" say to never go shopping on an empty stomach, so this was what we did on "our" day. It didn't matter where we ate but we usually didn't stray far from having a gift card, a coupon or preferably both to use, that way we felt like we were getting…

List Of Things Needed For...
So...Ive finally come to the point of needing some much needed input/information! For all those that have already gone down this road, what did you take with you to the hospital that you found you didn't need OR what didn't you bring that you wish you had? How much did you stock up on before and what all did you stock up…
-
Resetting Calories....
Because of my height and weight I wanted to lose, MFP had me at what people say is the lowest setting, 1200 calories. Obviously now that Ive had my Sleeve (last Thurs), everything that Ive consumed is not anywhere near that mark. Where do I go to reset the #'s so it doesn't show like Im starving myself?!?

Ladies...That time of the month!
For the ladies who have already been down the road of weight loss surgery....heres something for you :blushing: I typically get my monthly at either the tail end of the month or w/in the 1st couple days of the new month. Once in awhile it might happen w/in the 1st wk of the month. Im scheduled for my Sleeve Oct 16th, which…

If Every Day Were Like Today, Youd Weigh...
If Every Day Were Like Today, Youd Weigh... is the last thing that I would see after submitting my total calories for the day. Now In huge bold print letters I see this; Based on your total calories consumed today... What happened to...in 5 wks you should weigh...??? That's what Id like to see!!

Do Protein Shakes/Powders have a vitamine smell to them?
I was just curious if protein powders/shakes have any kind of smell to them that might make it hard(er) for someone to get interested in using them? What about taste/texture? Are some better than others? Thanks!
