  • Oh, Im super happy for you!!
  • KateMatt, its funny you mention the back because I did notice a few days ago that my back skin has its own area separate from the rest of my body...LOL! It used to be like 1 whole roll of skin and now (20lbs pre-op and 14lbs 1 wk post op), it seems I have a back w/ a separate tail
  • Is the "Isopure" clear in color and without taste? So it works out to be about 16 grams per 8oz and 8 grams for the 4 remaining oz. My Dr doesn't want us having more than 25 protein at 1 time from a powder or shake
  • Im thinking (or maybe Im hoping...lol) that mine might be somewhat similar to Robs. Since Ive already had my 1st week out and Im scheduled for my 2nd one 1 month from that appt, my next 1 will be 6 months and then 1 at the 1 year anniversary of my surgery. I don't believe I have any more w/ them directly, more as follow…
  • I wash mine, cut it in 1/2, remove seeds, brush all of flesh part w/ Olive Oil, add Salt & Pepper. Bake face down w/ a little water (maybe quarter cup) at 350 for about 45 minutes. My husband was willing to eat this if he got to keep his traditional "meat" sauce. We have eaten this using Alfredo sauce as well! Some people…
  • I had an upper GI test done about 6 months before my Sleeve where I was put out and a scope was put down my throat, no big deal! It was the drinking of the toxic foul smelling/tasting stuff I had to do after surgery that I was asking about when I 1st posted this :flushed:
  • Oooh, Thank You Melanie! I actually had not though about ordering side items off my husbands meal! Unfortunately we cant use "kids" at our table since its just my husband and I. Maybe if I bought a side item, I wouldn't feel so bad about "sampling" off my husbands plate but I really do hate the thought of a waitress…
  • Im finding my "signal" to be out of whack or something...lol! It doesn't hit me till like that last bite gets caught somewhere in my throat and then its an unbearable feeling of pain in my abdomen for like 30 minutes...Im guess till it works itself through. :cold_sweat:
  • Yesterday I started on my 2nd week....steak and pork chops don't come in till the 3rd month and then itll be a hit or miss depending on how I tolerate them....all I know is that Im badly craving meat/substance! Liquids, broth, cream of whatever soups and yogurt (w/out fruits) just aren't the same :broken_heart:
  • I bet your dog was watching to see if anything "accidently" dropped from your plate before it was given the 2nd egg that you couldn't eat...lol! This is what our dogs used to do when we were little....sit at our feet or "hide" under the table, like we weren't aware they were there :grinning:
  • It wasn't like I was "sneaking" him my food...lol! She came up from behind me in midst of me passing him my plate...it was unavoidable or just bad timing but it mustve given her some sense that I didn't like it...instead of that I didn't want it. People share/sample each others food all the time so I think she probably…
  • I have my 1st week post-op appt tomorrow  and its funny how the things we used to not even think twice about are the simplest things we'd give anything to eat now! My husband made some scrambled eggs w/ melted cheese the other day...you should've seen my glossy eyes just starring at it...lol! In my 2nd phase I can…
  • Interesting...thank you!
  • Hello! I'm originally from your state, but I guess Im drawing a blank on your area! I just had mine done on 11/16 (last week). It sounds like you've already endured some medical issues in your past so you already know the word "pain." I think anything medical that you haven't had to undergo can be a lot tougher if you've…
  • Thanks Ladies! Is this something you can find locally or something that needs to be ordered?
  • pawoodhull, your husband sounds like mine....he can eat his and mine too! A few months back when I was trying to work on more protein (to prepare for this new change), Id eaten all that I wanted but still had almost 1/2 a plate. I slid it over for my husband to have and told him to eat what he wanted (while it was still…
  • LoL...the way Im going, Im not gonna want several of the items on my short end list! As the 1st week comes to a close, I know it will be quite awhile before I will be able to stomach the smell of broth and jello  As far as the eggs, I could try just egg whites!
  • The week before my surgery (last week), I bought a size 4-6 black lacy shirt (very feminine but its never in my current size), a size I don't ever remember wearing growing up (maybe I skipped that size altogether!) I don't want to say "well, if I never fit into it, I only paid $3 (clearance) but use it as a goal reminder…
  • Do sweat pants fall under the "no elastic" rule?!? I couldn't imagine giving up my comfy sweat pants...nothing like laying around in something that gently hugs me, including running out with them! I wore them before I got this big and I cant imagine not having them for after weight loss!
  • I added some unflavored protein powder to my broth and thinking it would melt (like making jello), all it did was clump up. I put it in the blender and it made the broth really frothy, which was fine till I took my 1st spoonful and gagged on it. The texture was so gritty I thought I was putting sand in my mouth, it was…
  • Thank You All! LoL...In the moment Im not yet able to eat at restaurants but its something that my husband and I used to do once a week, allow someone else to cook and clean and then go get our weekly shopping/errands done! Because these 1st several "stages" are quite limiting on what youre "allowed" to put in your mouth,…
  • Thank You so Much! I just didn't want huge eyebrows raised by friends on my list thinking I quit eating or something...lol!
  • This was by far the most foul smelling/tasting stuff Ive ever had to consume. I had 3 x-rays and w/ each 1 I had to take several drinks, it was awful :anguished:
  • Awe, thank you! I was finally able to consume a few ounces of broth last night and a little today. I know its not the ideal solution but the crystal light and plain water seem to be working well enough for me for the immediate time being. I have my 1st follow up appt on Fri, which I hope allows me to get to the 2nd week of…
  • I bought 1 on the advise of Radcas11 and wore it last night, it was super comfy! I had my surgery on the 16th and was released last night around 8. Most of my pain was in the same day of my surgery but it subsided by later Fri. After Id done my leak test where they have you drink this foul stuff so x-ray can detect that…
  • Lisa Lisa and the Culture Jam B) !!
  • Youre so funny! Thanks for the great msgs...
  • Im glad you were able to find somewhere else to try again. I did a sleep study yrs ago and they couldn't get a good reading because I'd hardly slept. They wanted me to go back in for another try but I just couldn't :cold_sweat:
  • Just curious...whats your loss in your pics...youre looking great!
