Having carbs pre workout is a good idea! You'll be able to push harder in the gym thus burning more calories! Consume your carbs while your most active throughout the day, and pre work out, and eat less carbs when your winding down your day. Even though, all that matters is that your in a caloric deficit.

Yeah, I realized that after I posted lol... your speaking of your macro percentages on work out days, ton days off. I leave my macros as they are, but on training days I tend to eat more carbs, and try to eat less fats../

Well that's why you should eat those calories burned on exercise back... That would change your macro totals. I always eat my exercise calories back, It hasn't hindered my weight loss at all.

You over train if you can't match your nutritional needs with your workouts. To me over training is bs, if your over trained your not eating enough or getting enough protein... That's why eating back those exercise calories is important if your training hard..

Lose the weight first and worry about that later.. As long as you train hard, you should be fine. Its better to be at a healthy weigh range then to be overweight with firm skin. Good luck.

If your eating at maintenance, then any calories you burn would put you at a deficit, causing you to lose weight, so eating those calories back would keep you at a maintenance.

Also, if your very active, try to eat the calories you burn back... Eating only 1200 calories and burning 500-700 calories without eating any back is not healthy; especially for someone your age, who is still growing and developing.

Hi Katy, I would add calories as slow as possible, perhaps 50 more calories every week or so... This could be in the form of an extra piece of fruit or a 1/4 cup of yogurt, it shouldn't be to difficult though.. Your metabolism should acclimate easily to this..
