I've been on 1200 for about 3 months now and as of this morning hit 20 lbs lost. My food diary is open if you'd like to take a look. It's not perfect by any means (ahem.....had a bottle of wine for dinner on Saturday night instead of food - but hey, I took a long walk earlier in the day for damage control). I find foods…

Rheumatoid arthritis here that randomly attacks every joint in my body at any given moment. I know you said no swimming, but what about water walking and/or just treading water. That's how I got started initially and it really helped loosen things up so I could eventually move on to other exercises that I never would have…

Turkey burger Florentine with frozen peas.

I started with swimming, water walking and treading water then gradually over a few weeks moved to the gym and onto exercise bike, treadmill, eliptical and some light weights.

Some months I work through, others I rest. Depends on the cycle. I do tend to feel better when I exercise through, but sometimes with a heavier cycle, it's just not realistic for a couple of days. (peri-menopause stinks, can't wait for "the change" - lol)

I've watched a couple of piyo video samples and I have to say that they may be touting this as low impact, but it doesn't look like anything my arthritic joints are quite ready to handle. One day, I hope. I'm looking forward to your success stories and real life feedback as motivation to give it a whirl.

I try to get my 10,000 in just in normal daily activity. I have a sedentary job, so it helps me to focus on taking a few extra flights of stairs etc.. during the day. Then I do my normal work out, which is the calories I add under my exercise section. I don't count the 10,000.

Me tooooooo...........woke up all set to bike to work and get back at it after a weekend that was a bit "off". Got out of bed, got ready to go and immediately climbed into the car and drove to work. It's day 2 of a bad cycle and I just can't today. Mentally I know I'll feel better once I get moving, but darnit....I don't…

People are generally on a strong pro or a stong con side of the carb fence. i say, do what works for you, perhaps a "consistent carb" diet similar to what diabetics use? Simple carbs like bread, baked goods and pasta upset my stomach something fierce so i avoid them 95% of the time. I get my carbs from fruits, veggies and…

My joints couldn't take it anymore. NY winters are darned cold and I spent from January til April wrapped in blankets and heating pads when I wasn't working just getting heavier and stiffer. What a thing for my sons to witness.... mom giving up. NO MORE. Now they see me biking and hiking and playing soccer and swimming and…

Same here. Gained @ 3 lbs on vacation last week. As of today, after 3 days at home on my normal diet, it's gone again. Phew!!

A set of headphones, cheesy 80's music and the treadmill.

I've read a ton of posts on calorie deficit and this one finally offered answers that make sense to me. Thanks everyone!

Just got back from vacation, so last week was a bit "off", but my calendar is open and I'm doing 1200.

My husband is an amazing cook. Since we've started changing our eating habits he's made it his mission to make healthier versions of our favorite foods so we stick to our plan. It's working wonderfully.

What about a consignment shop....sell your bigger clothes to buy smaller ones.

An endocrinologist may very well refer you to a diabetic educator, who's generally an RN trained in the specifics of diabetic nutrition plans. Good luck!

I have RA and can tell you...getting started was BRUTAL. I knew I couldn't do a traditional work out due to my severely inflamed joints (hips, knees, shoulders, ankles), but I was just so tired of sitting in a chair with my feet up, heating pad on and growing bigger by the minute. I had to do something. So I hit the…

You ladies look amazing. Great work.

My husband......he's my cheerleader, my weight loss partner, my work out buddy and my own personal chef. Combined we've lost 53 lbs in 6 weeks and support each other every step of the way.

I like mine with shredded carrots and celery and just a tblspn or 2 of miracle whip. Then I either wrap it in romaine or top a side salad with it. I haven't tried the greek yogurt yet, but think with some salt pepper garlic, this would be delish.

I like anything by the clash and talking heads....also, Pandora has a great 80's cardio station that I like.

Watermelon and/or frozen yogurt. But when nothing but the real deal will work, I keep a couple snack size peppermint patties in the freezer. They're fairly low in fat/calories and when frozen, they take a bit longer to enjoy, which slows down the consumption for maximum enjoyment.

Not sure how low is low to you, but dannon light and fit vanilla greek yogurt (1 cup) with a handful of raspberries is 15 g carbs, 12 g sugar and 18 g protein. Pretty filling too.

Car Jam or pretty much anything by the Clash.

Zucchini "Pizza" (more like veggie lasagna): Shred 4 cups zucchini, sprinkle with 1/2 teaspoon of salt, let sit for 10 minutes. Then squeeze all excess water from the zucchini. Mix shredded zucchini with 2 eggs (I think 1 would have been better), 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese, 1 cup part skim mozzarella cheese and 1/2 cup…

I've been on 1200 for about 6 weeks now and find it's working great (down 15 lbs this morning). I'm 4'11', so anything more would hinder my 2lb loss/week, which I'm not ready to give up quite yet. For the most part I'm only consuming carbs that come from fruit/veggies, so that's helped significantly with keeping calories…
