  • Grilled chicken, pork, beef, shrimp. Very filling, high protein, low inherent sodium, easy to cook, and can be cooked in multiple ways. While going from 335 to 209, I ate a lot -- a lot -- of grilled chicken seasoned different ways.

  • Help with what? You could eat less or raise your calorie goal to a more realistic level and that would go a long way toward getting rid of the red. 2000 calories at 375 is really, really low.

  • Sugar is sugar. MFP doesn't distinguish between inherent and added sugar. If sugar isn't a medical issue for you, it's personal preference.

Maybe if there was less time spent policing others' tones, there'd be more time to make all of these eloquent posts everyone seems to think they can be making.

  • I don't mean the Cartesian self, particularly in a scientific sense, but, again, unless you have some way of modifying the processes which generate consciousness, the consciousness of the entity is fundamental, foundational, and precedes any conscious processes implemented by that entity.
  • Unless you know of some way to rewire the biochemical processes in the brain which give rise to consciousness, no, it isn't just a difference in point of view. "I think, therefore I am" is about as central as we're able to manage. That's the entity. That's the level at which personal responsibility, mens rea, etc. attach.

  • If you think "be more goal-oriented" wouldn't be the next "condescending" answer -- "of course I have goals, do you think I'm stupid?!?!" -- you're more optimistic than I am. Even leaving aside that not everyone view settings goals with the same degree of approval, kinda like with exercising self-control.
