  • Thanks for the great post! I did a copy and past so I can print it out and put it in my binder of useful information! YES, I still do things in a binder as well as online. For me it is helpful. Thanks again!
  • This is a BAD idea. Don't cut out ALL of these things. I did that and did great for 7 months, then the holidays hit and wow, fudge and cakes and cookies started rolling in and guess what - that JUST one turned into a whole lot of "just one MORE" because I didn't teach myself or train myself MODERATION. NOW, I am focusing…

  • I am TRYING to lose weight yet again. I have a large amount to lose. I try to stay active on here and I TRY to eat healthy, but sometimes life gets in the way (YES, that is a poor excuse!). I walk several times a week. Please feel free to add me!
  • I did South Beach three times now. When I did it I was very determined and spent 7 months doing it faithfully and did great! Weight loss not huge, but inches were! Body toned a lot and I looked fit. Sad to say, South Beach is very tough, or I thought it was. Giving up all of the things I love was not something I could…

  • I completely agree. I am guessing "real" and/or current photos were not exchanged either. When talking to someone online or on the phone anyone can be whomever they choose. They can say whatever but actions speak louder than words. That is why it is so important to NOT put all your eggs in one basket with someone you don't…
  • I just want to say "wow!!!" GREAT job on the weight loss and healthy living you are doing!

  • I completely disagree. My tattos are about my Irish heritage AND the most important one is for Autsim awareness, because one of the most important people in my life is Autistic and I am his advocate and he calls me mom. That is not a temporary feeling and people ask about it and get an education on autism!
  • I am going to say the people who say walking isn't exercise are the ones sitting on their butts doing absolutely nothing. Walking is a great form of exercise and is fairly easy on your joints. When you are moving and you are moving for any period of time it is helping to strengthen your muscles and it is good for your…
  • Hi ladies. I am not quite 50, but isn't 47 close enough to be considered? I am new too and could really use some friends and support on this journey!
  • New here...... 47, 5'8" and currently at 251. I am a single mom, work full time and try to walk a few miles three or four days a week.
  • Keep in mind, it didn't go on over night, even though it seems that way; and it isn't going to come off over night either. I am the same way....I lose and then I gain. I have the mentality that I lost it so now I can eat whatever I want. Realistically, I am not the type of person who can eat what she wants.....I have to be…
  • I just started, so count me in! I need all the support I can get!
  • I only read a few days of your enteries. How can anyone afford to eat out that often? Take the money you are spending and put it in a jar and cook at home. In the freezer section you can get pre-made meals. Make veggies and salads to go with it. Eat as many veggies as you want (without butter or cheese sauces) and you will…
  • I found that I love roasted veggies and almost any vegetable roasts nicely. Suprisingly roasted radishes are so delicious! Changes the flavor of them completely. I cut my veggies up throw them in a bowl with a tiny bit of olive oil to coat then spread themn out on a cookie sheet and sprinkle sea salt and ground black…
  • I love cottage cheese! I eat a 1/2 cup for breakfast every morning.
  • I know how hard it is to give up sugar, and/or to even cut back! I am a sugar addict -- I eat brown sugar out of the bag by the spoonful if I am craving it that badly. I did give up sugar for awhile...I was on South Beach and I was successful until Christmas time when all of the fudge, cookies and things came into the…
  • I really could use the support! I work in an office where most everyone gets lunch out. I TRY to bring in a salad or some type of veggie every day, but some days I just feel so lazy and think "I will order a salad out" and that turns into Mexican or something else unhealthy!
