absolutely, and now that I looked at more pics of you I see that I was wrong... you are much cuter

welcome to MFP, it's a great way to get started on the lifestyle change, get advice, and have people who can encourage and hold you accountable.

kinda sad looking back on it

nope, crush i was too shy to act on.

i'm sorry that anyone makes you feel bad whether it is someone you know in real life or online. But on the bright side, we only know about three sentences of your life - which doesn't define you. And you bf's opinions, good or bad, does not define who you are either. i get the venting thing, like a talking to a bartender,…

all good in many ways, lol

woohoo! local

you have nothing to apologize for. bottling it up doesn't help a whole lot. talking about it is good if it leads to a change for the better.

that you look like someone i went to hs with

the panda on your head of course

i follow the low-tech solution - i take it off when i do other work outs and record those in MFP to get a better workout picture. but i think the key is to be consistent in whatever you do. Regarding the accuracy, I think it is a little high but not by much. i counted out 100 steps and my fitbit recorded 104 so that is…

and are you trying to tempt me with cupcake pics on your profile?

I have a light snack around 4 and then dinner after my bike ride.

i hate running too. but i started off with a very light jog first, like a little faster than a fast walk. then after a week or two went between that and jogging faster. you got this, don't feel like you have to go from zero to marathon all at once. Once I dropped some weight running got easier and easier. Sounds like you…

this post reminds me of a scene from the movie Hitch... "tell me what I did wrong?!?!" "you are doing it right now!"

i agree, there is no perfect answer for everyone. For me it is all about motivation. I found something fun (a goal of a triathalon) and using that as motivation. running in the gym bores me but i am thankful to live in an area that has great weather 10 months of the year where i can go running and ride my bike outside and…

I have tried mapmyfitness and strava and like both though I am sticking with Strava because it offers more options for cycling. Pedometers like fitbit don't help a ton in terms of tracking running but the good news is that there are a few really good free aps which would do more for you. At the very least they are good…

just to throw something out there. this is just opinion and feel no need to listen but this is what I am doing. I am setting a positive fitness goal for myself which does not involve my weight. For me, my goal is to do a triathalon in early 2015. While i do check my weight once a week it is not my goal. It gets me out of…

free child care at the gym? think they would notice if you went to the movies? Ok, seriously, that is a great opportunity to zone out and get your workout done. I'd be all over that, especially if they had a pool

Yeah, I hear you on the kids - it is the toughest part of getting in shape because it feels like they take up all my time. But they are also my biggest motivation to getting healthy. Set a good example and be around for a long time.

just to throw out something other than Sriracha... check out Iguana Hot Sauce - the green jalapeno sauce is one of the best. While it is somewhat hot, you can also get the flavor of the jalapeno and it's chunky.

I just started fitbit as well and what I was told is that you have to enter the exercise in MFP including the start and end times and it will discount that info.

One of those smart quiet kids who would come up with the witty thing to say

Glad you are seeking advice here, sometimes you need help and there is no shame in asking. When you have a flu, you can usually handle it yourself at home, but sometimes you have to go to the hospital because you need someone to help you. It's up to you to gauge where you are. I'd recommend an accountability partner/mentor…

moral of the story: if i just drink 7 cups a day doesn't mean that I'm unhealthy....
-
I thought in addition to hydration, it helps flush toxins from your body which helps prevent kidney stones and UTI. Is that wrong?
-
I hear ya. For me the issue is not so much that I want to eat it, it's just that it is so much faster and easier than cooking myself. It's convenient to hit a drive through when I forgot to pack a lunch or am in a rush. Luckily for me, there is an El Pollo Loco nearby - it may not satisfy my occasional burger craving but…

It looks like it does record a start time on MFP, but it is not on the FB dashboard. At least as far as i can tell. I didn't look but it feels like my steps increased but there is no record of a workout at that time. Does anyone else use a running app? does runtastic communicate a little better between the other two apps?

i'm new here and have to throw an wrench in the question. So i went for a run today and used the "Map My Fitness" app, which sends data to "My Fitness Pal" but I was also wearing my fitbit. Did i double up on my steps during that? And what's the correct solution? Entering in the data into MFP as well? Or just taking off…

I'm new here. I take it this is sort of like FB for getting healthy?
