Or how hard we work at it!!! :blushing:

I log it in the cardio section, using 'circuit training', 20 minutes. I have a HRM, and at level 1 I was using about 155-165 calories, but yesterday on my first day of level 2 it went up to about 175 I think.
-
Absolutely agree. But I really would recommend a HRM; I found I was overestimating calorie expenditure significantly until I got one.
-
Day 1 of level 2 done (which is my day 11). This is getting confusing. Certainly had to wipe the sweat from my brow afterwards.
-
My sentiments entirely! Also, having a heart rate monitor really helps.

What follows the calculator is very interesting; a completely different perspective from the one normally found on this website. I had sort of accepted the high protein argument, simply because everybody around here seems to agree on it. But now I'm not so sure...

Level 1, Day 10 done. YESSSSSS!
-
... and day 9 done now too. One more day at level 1. Getting a bit nervous about what comes next!
-
And I'm another one - this time from Yorkshire! Good luck with your weight loss / fitness.
-
Level 1, day 8 done. Finding it quite difficult at the moment, possibly because I'm doing it after other exercise. Wobbly belly still there, no difference in the mirror or on the scales, but I have lost half an inch from my both waist and hips.
-
Just finished level 1, day 7. No sign of any change to the wobbly belly yet. :ohwell:
-
And another bump!
-
I'm 'only' doing it once a day, but I'm doing other stuff too (mainly CV). Did level 1 day 6 today, but can't see any difference at all. Am determined to do the whole thing though.

Oh, the menopause! I'm struggling with the weight thing too. My guess is that because we lose muscle mass with the menopause, the metabolism slows down, so I'm working hard on weight training to try to redress the balance (as well as counting calories). The hot flushes vary enormously between women. I know people who only…

Thanks! But day 5 in yesterdays UK heat was a killer! Did you do it?

-
Yep, I'm going to do my best - work issues permitting.
-
Level 1, day 4 done. A bit more difficult this time. May have to eat my previous words (hope they are low calorie).
-
Bump for me too!
-
Let us know how you are getting on.

Hello Pete! I'm in my early 50's too, and I know where you're coming from. Literally, in fact, as I'm also from the UK, hahaha! I've also lived in a hot country, so I know how debilitating that heat can be. It sounds like you have been through the mill a bit with your various illnesses. It's no wonder you're feeling a bit…

Level 1 day 3 done. Hope you don't all hate me, but I'm not finding it too bad so far!
-
L1D2 over for me. I'm new to all this; is the general idea to do 10 days of each level?
-
Oh no! Does that mean I can't exercise like crazy then stuff my face?!
-
Me too! 30DS is not really known here in the UK, but I saw you all talking about it, ordered it, and started today. I'm using my HRM too! CW: 126 GW: 120 (but have been stuck at 126 for ages, so not at all sure if this is possible)
-
I've just bought the FT4 - it arrived this morning! It is absolutely fine; don't think I would use any extra bells and whistles.
-
I got interested in finding the answer to my own question! If anyone else is interested, here's a scientific article that suggests that older people need both more muscle training and more protein: http://www.sportsnutritionworkshop.com/Files/11.SPNT.pdf The consensus from the things I've found out there on t'internet so…

I'm a veteran veggie - 28 years now. I sometimes try to be more vegan, but am in a cheese and egg phase at the moment. For me though, to try to ensure animal welfare standards, the important thing is to eat only organic cheese/dairy, and only organic woodland eggs (is this a UK term? It means beyond free range - chickens…

Ha ha! Why didn't I think of that?! Found a great yoga exercise, which is exactly right. Thanks very much.

Bump for me too; thank you.
