My usual is a more rustic pizza - no tomato sauce or anything... take some fresh basil, garlic, cubed pre-cooked chicken, part-skim cheese, halved grape tomatoes, onions, and whatever other veggies you want, and mix that in a bowl with a splash of olive oil and some balsamic vinegar. Then spread over a thin whole wheat…

Thanks for this - I needed it today. I was actually considering a 2-week break this morning becasue I'm so tired of this plateau, but logging on and seeing my MFPal's victories, notes of encouragement, and THIS... well, I'm back at it. I won't let myself down because, as you said, today is the day!

I'm originally from the States and moved to Canada over 10 years ago (to marry a British-Canadian), so I could write a book of these! Even the same products can taste totally different between the two countries (Pops cereal was my first experience with that). A few of mine... - Wheat Chex vs. Shreddies - my Chex mix can no…

Welcome and feel free to add me :) As for cake, well... what I do is bake cupcakes instead. I only make 1 for everyone that will be there and none for me and that's it... no leftovers, no temptation, no guilt!

I just got my first about a week and a half ago! It's on my side (just below where your bra would hit), and it's lovely! I waited until I didn't have much fat there, thinking that it won't change too much as I tone (hopefully), but if it gets smaller, I'm okay with that, because it's about 4" in diameter. I didn't work out…

It really depends on what you can already do on the treadmill. If you're really starting from scratch, I recommend C25K all the way... as will many others.

I'd been playing around with losing for a couple years - back and forth between the 190s and 220s, and then my Gram passed away and I let it all go to hell and gained another 40lbs in about 8 months. I hated the pictures and getting dressed in the morning, etc., but the wake-up for me was when I went on a spa day with a…

How long before your run are you eating, and how much? I find that I only get side stitches if I've eaten too recently. If you can't run on empty, just have something small at least 30-45 minutes before your run (and stop drinking water within the hour before). I usually run after work, so I'll have an apple on my commute…

Are you able to return it if it's not been altered? If so, I would order two sizes close to where you think you'll be by then and then see which fits better about a month from the wedding and have that one fitted and return the other one. That's what I did with a swimsuit I bought in April for a July vacation. :)

Bump!! :drinker:

My official weigh-in is tomorrow, so I'll post my stats then, if that's okay. Day 1 today, but I'll be taking it a little easy because I just got a tattoo yesterday, so my side is still a bit tender. I'll do all that I can though!!! :)

Agreed. I started running at 240!

Definitely C25K. You can find the times here: http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml then, search around and you can download MP3s and Pocasts that have the run/walk alerts. I finished it recently and ran my first 5K last Sunday, and I was NEVER a runner before this. Now, I am still slow, but I'm going back…

So, what happened??? You've got us all curious. ;)

Thanks for clearing that up. ;) Definitely professional - a suit all the way, or, if it's too warm where you are, a crisp white collared shirt (well ironed) also makes a good impression. You can always add some flare in the jewellery or shoes. Good luck!!

Again, it depends on what kind of job it is...

That would depend on what type of job it is...

All sounds good to me! I will be camping one weekend and in NYC another weekend, but I will try to keep up.... I can at least do the equivilent moves during those days. Sticking to it this time!!
-
Count me in! I started it back in May but then had house guests for a month and didn't want to jump around my livingroom every night in front of them. ;) Thanks for the encouragement for take two!!
-
I'll be aiming for at least 210.
-
Just to be sure you got my count for triple day... burned 1211 - tripled to 3633!

Maybe you're trying to do too much too fast? I would recommend concentrating on one element at a time until it's habit and then adding another one. So, for example, more water, then less salt, then less sugar, 2 hours of exercise a week, more veggies, etc., etc. and let them build on eachother rather than trying to jump in…

Toes pointing out. Sorry - I should have pointed out that I do have shoes from a specialty store that did the full analysis and picked them out for me - no issue with foot pain, or rolling or uneven weight - just the fact that my toes point out at an angle instead of straight in front of me.

I'm a new runner (about 6 months), I run outside, and I listen to music. I started without it, but I have asthma and I found that hearing myself breathe would freak me out, so the music over-powered that. I've never tried it without since that point... might have to give it a try.

Bump.

Bump. 'Cause 150 is my goal!

I think the pace is good. Yes, it'll take quite a while to make it around, but as long as everyone is still getting into it, I think that's fine. :) What about a random paralyzed ship or multiply bonus for just one boat on one day per week? That might help the chances of catching up with some of the front runners...

I've completed C25K (and ran my first 5K last weekend), so I can tell you it works. :) Just wanted to point out that if you don't get a big response here for the beginner support, there is a C25K Forum where graduates and participants at all stages can post progress, get support, ask for advice, etc. If you go to C25K.com…
