Have you heard of Meetup.com? There's tons of groups where you can meet people with similar interests or activities. When I moved to a new city a while back I joined and then dropped off after I met some great friends to continue on with. You should be able to put your location in and find local groups that might go for…

I've never heard anyone say to cut water intake. To flush retained water, you drink more water. Most people say to take your weight in pounds, divide it in half, and that's how many ounces you should drink a day (e.g. you weigh 160lbs, you drink 80oz of water). I drink more than that though, personally. However, don't do…

I'm a slow runner right now. My running goal is to get through the program and be able to run 5k straight, then work on speed. I'm signed up for a race in October, but might do one before that if I can get moving a bit faster. Will be on vacation with two runners in a few weeks, so we'll go out every morning - that should…

Ooo! I want to finish C25K by the end of the month, so I'm in. I've been leaving too many days between, so I need some accountability. I'm supposed to do W5D3 tonight - scary!! I put it off last night because it was so humid, so I've got to bite the bullet when I get home. My week 1 weight (6/5) was 188.2. My goal for the…

You'll get there... Patience and perseverance is the name of the game :) Remember that goal, and maybe even buy yourself one of those dresses in your target size and work to fit into it - great motivation!

Name: Sarah Age: 32 Height: 5' 6.5" MFP member since March; losing since Feb I've been overweight my whole adult life, yo-yoing between 175 and 245 since I was about 18. This time around (and the LAST time around) I started at 240 back in January, went back and forth with the same 10 pounds for a couple months, then…

If you run, you ARE a runner... own it!! :)

I'm doing more than just C25K, so I can't say what kind of loss is directly attributable. However, I can say my fitness level is much better. I always had a lot of stamina for spinning, aerobics, etc., but could never run. Now, every time I go out, it is easier. Though, the dreaded W5D3 is on the schedule for tonight!…

Personally, I would recommend to not take anyone's recommendation. Go to a good running store and get personally fitted. It won't be that much more expensive and you'll know you have the right show for your foot, gait, etc.

You can do this. Sometimes it takes a bit of a rebound to help you see where your boundaries are. At least you've jumped on it now rather than going all the way back to your start. So, readjust to start losing again and when you've made it, you'll know that you can't quite go back to eating everything if you want to…

"Sweet Knockout" sounds good to me! ;) I'm in!!

I swear by it. Seems to give me more energy, and they say it boosts metabolism. I also find that if I take some extra just before my TOM (sorry, guys) I don't get cramps or bloating. I take the liquid form, as someone told me you get more out of liquid vitamins. Haven't tried it any other way, so I couldn't speak for that…

This might be cheesy, but I have a charm bracelet that I add a charm to for every 10lbs. Something that reflects what's going on at the time. Five on there so far! At 60lbs, I'm going parasailing. At 80lbs, I'm getting a tattoo. And finally, at 90, I don't know yet. I'm aiming for that to coincide with a weekend trip to…

Last week - 190.2 Today - 188.2 8.3 to go for my June goal!

Everyone sticking with it?? Will post my week 2 weight in the a.m. Started 30-Day Shred this weekend, so will keep at it to add the 30-min goal, and I'm hoping to run a few days this week too. Hope everyone is finding success!!

Hi, Gabrielle, and welcome :) Please feel free to friend me - would love to help out where I can and have another pal that has my back as well!

I fell off the wagon with this one a while ago... It's no excuse, but I've had an insanely busy month and this is the item I let slip, unfortunately. SO, long story short, I am starting over from the beginning tonight so that I can fit all 30 days in before my vacation. It's exactly 30 days until I leave, so NO EXCUSES!!…

I started at 240 and hit the 180's this week, so you can do it!!! My big first goal is to be in the 170's by July 1 because I leave for Mexico on July 3 :glasses:

I actually didn't realize until I moved from the States to Canada that Americans tend to switch the meaning of "nationality" and "ethnicity" - I would have worded it the same way until 10 years ago. So, nationality-wise, I am American (still a citizen) and Canadian (working on the paperwork for citizenship, but currently a…

Yes - zucchini ia courgettes. I just heard about shirataki earlier this week, strangely enough... haven't had a chance to get to the store any buy any though. Maybe tomorrow....

Romaine lettuce with tomato, mushrooms, a few olives, and balsamic vinegar is my favourite. When I get home I'm also going to pull a radish sprout out of my garden to see if they're ready yet. I really hope the are - 2 dozen radishes coming up! :)

Thanks for the push, all - I just took the plunge and bought it! Their drop-in price is $20/class (1.5 hours) and the deal was $30 for 10 classes. So, even if I hate it, if I go twice it will have been worth a try. Now I will be very nervous before my first class!! I'll finish my 30-Day Shred first to at least firm up a…

Oh, I should maybe mention that I'm a 5'6.5" woman. Apparently this gym is about a 50/50 split between male and female members.

I would just say plan, plan, plan. If you're going out to a restaurant, look at the menu ahead of time to calculate nutrition and decide what the best choice is. If you're going to someone's house, eat a salad before you go so that you're not hungry and don't eat items you aren't aware of the contents of. And for eating at…

Feel free to add me as a friend as well. I try to encourage everyone, and I post recipes (usually daily) to my blog. I tend to plan out my dinners in the morning, stop at the store on my way home from work if any supplies are needed, and cook as soon as I get home... I don't sit down because I know I'll lose the momentum…

Ooo! I'm a day late, but can I crash the party? I did eat produce all day yesterday - apple with breakfast, salads at lunch and dinner, and cherries for dessert! My weigh-in yesterday (5/30/11) was 190.2 I need to lose at least 10.2 pounds by July 3rd to meet my vacation goal, so I need challenges!

It seems there are always points that people have a bit of a hard time getting past. For myself, I knew this time that no matter what I did it was going to take me a while to go from 205 to 199, because that's always been a tough threshold for me. My next one will be around 185. Don't be discouraged - just keep on…

I've kept one of my own, just for reference, but do tend to delete most. I have lots of picture-taking friends though, so I can't avoid them!!

That's just MEAN!! Wow. Mine doesn't compare to these gems, but one Christmas I bought my ex something I new he'd really wanted plus a book - with meaning: we'd met acting in a play together that was based on the book. We'd been dating for about 5 months. He got me a some stupid gag gift. To be fair, he did feel bad when…

I use the schedule from www.c25k.com and then download MP3s with the walk/run prompts. If you search, there are a ton of them out there. Good luck!!
