I don't fully know pros and cons, just that it's low in fat and high in protein. I made it for the first time last week and enjoyed it, an odd texture and doen't really taste of much, just slightly creamy. Its all about what you marinate it in. I made a satay sauce out of soy sauce, sweet chilli sauce and cruncy peanut…

On a vlcd you will. Try Exante, it works for some but many people on here will be critical of diets like this as they are seen as unhealthy. I am intermittently using this method and have had extremely good losses over the past year and not put a pound back on x

1200 is often the default mfp gives but it's way too low for lots of people. I agree your weekly goal should be less as you have less to lose and the exercise your adding means you should probably be eating more than 1200 calories. I'd go on a website that calculates your BMR and TDEE and custom your settings x

Actually that is a myth, you do not gain weight quicker if you lose it quickly. Initially, if you started eating lots of carbs again you would put on a good 6lbs or so of water weight and then you'd just have to work hard like anybody does to keep it up. I'm doing a ketosis diet at the moment. I have lost 12lbs in under 3…

Try not to make comparisons between counting calories and Weight Watchers. Weight Watchers work out your propoints already taking into account the calories an average person uses on fruit and vegetables every day but on MFP it all has to be counted. Dont worry about it though, calories from fruits and vegetables are…

It should not make a difference at all to your capacity to lose weight and be very slim/toned or whatever you want to be. Everybody has different builds which we can't change as its in our genetics but your bones aren't "fat" are they? Just the layers on top of them (I'm not calling you fat by the way) I'm just trying to…

I increased my calories too to lose. From 1300 to 1700 a day and you may need to eat even closer to maintenance calories to let your body know it's ok to get rid of fat.

Me!! After a 12 lb loss then 5 week plateau at 1300 calories a day I increased to 1700 based on a website which works out your TDEE and lost in the first week!! Fingers crossed this is the start of consistent losing again X

Hey, 1200 is the absolute minimum a person that isn't breastfeeding should have. Breastfeeding uses up around 500 calories a day so without even without exercise your body is potentially trying to run on only 700 calories, not to mention te fact you'll be burning even more running around after a new baby. Be good to…

I was in the same boat as you, increased my calories again to 1700 last week and have started losing weight again. I'm finding it hard to eat that much after months on between 1200-1400 a day but I'm certainly enjoying eating more healthy fats and tons of protein. Height 5ft 1" Current weight 172 lbs Goal weight 120-130 lbs

Go with you HRM to be safe.

Me!! Been stuck at the same weight for a month now. I track religiously, eat all clean non processed foods, I reset my macros, drink over 8 glasses of water a day, work out 5 days a week and I increased my calories from 1300 to 1400 a day and STILL no move on the scales. The last week I've started doing Jillians 30DS (I…

So reassuring. I need to put my scales away as I'm discouraged by not seeing the numbers change but I know I'm doing everything right, I'm fitter and my clothes feel better. I must start taking photos and measurements.

Tell him to keep up the amazing work and get his *kitten* on here and immerse himself in all the great advice! I'd tell him not to weight himself too often and definitely not after a meal out. And also with all the activity he's doing, is he netting enough calories at the end of each day? It may be that after a while on…

I'm on L1D3, I've never managed to finish the whole 30 days before but I'm getting married in a year so it's a huge motivation. I can do with all the encouragement I can get though! :)

Heard this the other day, "If you spill a spot of red wine on your white top do you pour the rest of the glass over yourself?". One slip up doesn't mean it's ruined, just dust yourself off and start again with the next meal x

Honestly eating more works better, try it for 2 weeks and see. Think of you body like a machine that needs 1200 calories a day AT LEAST to work, if you only eat 1200 calories and then exercise on top of that (say you burn 300 calories) then your body is trying to run on -300 calories, it's impossible. You hair and skin…

You don't seem to be eating much and not many fruits or veggies. Increase your veg uptake, drink 8 glasses of water a day and on your home page ensure you are netting at least 1200 calories a day after exercise. Many days you are coming under this and this may be a reason your body doesn't want to shed the fat. Also start…

For some people it helps to weigh often but for me it's best if I only weight once a week, naked, in the morning and after a wee! :embarassed: Your weight will fluctuate by a few pounds throughout the day plus you may put on weight from water retention if your exercising or eating salty foods or TOTM. I think once a week…
