I hate to be so simplistic, but I use my Nintendo Wii. The program I have (Wii Fit) classifies your weight/height (BMI) and tells you the classification you fall into. Right now it says "That's Obese" when I weigh myself, but there is a "normal" or average classification. I am sure when I get close to my goal weight that I…

I am struggling with this too. I usually have a good filling breakfast, but have to just eat a bowl of cold cereal before I go to the gym now. I can then have some yogurt or something after my workout, and that's when I take my vitamins. I used to run a lot in the mornings, and would never eat before I ran. I would get an…

I read it and commented. I like your satire. Keep on writing, you have a flair for it.

It was nice to read about someone losing so much weight over the long haul. I think it is going to be a long process for me, and knowing that someone else had long term success really motivates me. I know I have to be patient, and your story helps me have more.

You fall asleep in the movie theatre!

Hope you feel better soon. I think I commented to someone that life wasn't fair, and neither is the weight loss world. It is so easy to gain weight, but so difficult to lose it. I agree with what someone else said about water weight. You can change your weight a great deal in a short period of time with water. Contrary to…

Wow. You not only did it, you memorialized it for the rest of us. I felt like I was there with you. Did you make your goal time?

Welcome to MFP. I haven't been here long, but already have lost 8 pounds. Your motivation soounds great. This is the perfect place to set goals and make them a reality. Having a family really makes one care about their health doesn't it?

Do you mean Vitamix? I googled it for you and found this one that sounded interesting to me. I got to get me one of those! Zucchini Pancakes Yield: 8 pancakes Time: 15 to 20 seconds Speed: Variable Ingredients 1/3 cup (80 ml) 1% milk 2 cups (250 g) chopped zucchini 3/4 cup (180 ml) egg substitute or 3 eggs 1/4 teaspoon…

Ditto the above comment. I struggled with side stitches in the past, and would blow out my stomach so I would look pregnant (belly breathing) when I started to feel one coming on. I was doing too much chest breathing at that time, so when I switched to belly breathing it took care of the problem. Learned how to belly…

I will be more than happy to add you. I am an old man compared to you, but we can learn from each other. Our weights are near the same, so weight problems don't discriminate based on age. Friend request sent.

I agree with what everyone else is saying. I think the shoes that are right for you are not the same ones everyone will like. I am currently using the Brooks Beast because I am heavy and they have lots of support. I used Asics for years and loved them, but as I slowed my running and gained weight I switched to the Brooks…

I tried to review but as someone else said you need to change your settings so people can view your diary and comment. Be glad to look it over when you change settings!

This has been an interesting conundrum for me. I drink champagne, but had cut back to twice a week and only one glass prior to beginning MFP. I had successfully lost weight drinking beer when I was running all the time, and much younger. Even then I noticed that the alcohol made my weight loss slow or stop, and sometimes I…

I hope I can post some pictures I am proud of when I have been on MFP for a while. I agree with you, it is easier to keep the weight off than to start all over again after letting it go. I think I went up about 65 lbs. before I freaked out and realized that I couldn't let this go on any longer. Keep up the good work.…

I love lentils. How talented you are to throw together such a good recipe when you don't feel well. I will write this down.

I haven't had this problem as regularly as you, but I do have it sometimes. I had a salad today and didn't even want to eat any dinner. I had to go out to celebrate an even wiith a friend so I went ahead and ate. I think it is just our bodies changin, and I'm not going to eat if I'm not hungry in the future. :glasses: I…

I agree, this is a wonderful website. I have trouble with late night snacks. Before I signed up for this site I would crave cookies in the evenings. After seeing how many calories were in those I found grapes work just as well to satisfy my cravings, and I don't blow the whole day of work by splurging at night. I will have…

I like this topic. About 25 years ago I needed to lose weight. I signed up for a class called "Weight Loss" at our local university. The same principles being used by MFP were taught in that class. Unfortunately we didn't have the lists so easily organized. What we had were lots of tables from different sources listing the…

Hi! I read your question and was very excited to read the responses. I hadn't heard of c25k but will look into it now. I had started a similar program that Jillian Michaels had on her web site some time ago (I printed it out and saved it). My problem is that I used to be a runner, and even did one marathon about 20 years…

I had this problem when running years ago. About 7 miles into a half-marathon my feet were so numb and hurting that I was sure there was something in my shoe and would have to stop and check. Nothing there! I went to a local running store and they said something about my feet swelling and to go up 1/2 to 1 full size. I…

Ha Ha. You better go through your drawers and find all the hidden snacks so you don't have the temptation again!. I have a "food drawer" which is getting increasingly empty of bad food. Believe it or not my weakness is this really tasty high fat hummus! Thanks for the laugh.

I walk my two dogs for about 30 minutes per night, and I always log it. I think if you want to be accurate log it!

I bought the 30 day shred because I was all psyched up to lose weight. I found it difficult to do without stopping and then looked a little bit more into it. It was described as "advanced" in my fitness catalog. I am far from advanced. I didn't get hurt, but would have if I hadn't discontinued for a time. I am now using it…

I am with you on the issue of being in shape long ago, working out regularly, and then letting it go. I do not want to be sickly in my golden years, and can still make changes. You can too. Maybe you can be in better shape in the future, than you were in the past! Good Luck:happy:
