I totally love this statement. It really makes me think about the fact that time will pass anyway, might as well TRY to be fit. I am going through some of the same thing. Stuck in a plateau for a year. Add me as a friend if you like and we can commiserate. :)

Besides Slow Poke Rodriguez (LOL) I liked some real oldies. Rocky and Bullwinkle, Top Cat, Felix the Cat, Super Chicken, Fearless Fly, Beanie and Cecil, Yogi Bear, The Beatles Cartoons and Little Abner.

I have had a desk job for 30 years. I go out once in a while but sometimes barely have time for a bathroom break between clients. I started MFP over a year ago, and so far have lost 26 lbs. I have been dead in the water for the last six months or so. I did C25K and now run four miles four times/week. I also bike the two…

I read every post on this thread. I love the ideas. I used to run daily for years, and the people who were out smoking cigarettes in the parking lot would yell "jogging is bad for your knees." I also have a colleague who is older than me (I am 59) and he always seems to "correct" me when I say I "ran" and he says what I…

Your grandma sounds like a fun person. I bet she was a hot ticket in her day!

I just added you. Look forward to helping each other on this challenge thing. I need to learn how to quit snacking! What is your biggest weakness?

I am not a physician, so I am just a fellow weight loss traveler who is thinking along with you on what might be going on. If it is near time for your annual physical, get you kidney/liver functioning checked. Can't hurt. I would also make sure I was drinking ONLY cold water, not juice, or crystal light, plain old everyday…

I really loved her before she married Bobby Brown. She couldn't overcome her addictions. It feels like John Belushi all over again.

I totally agree with you. I've seen friends lose weight really fast and then re-gain it again. I am slow and steady when I run in foot races, and it's how I made it through graduate school. The Gazelle's are slowly passed by the tortoises. I am planning another year to be at my goal.

No one has said anything negative, but I feel the tension building at work between me and the larger people in the office. I used to be one of them, but am slowly leaving that life behind. I think everyone assumed that at least for most people, aging meant getting larger and larger. I know I once felt that way. Now I feel…

I am male, and find I have great friends, male and female. Fitness is not a very gender specific area, so I find little difference between the men and women on this site. It is the support that is important to me.

Great Post. You made my day.

I am a newbie runner now, but years ago I was really into it. At my peak I ran five miles a day six days a week. I have friends who ran faster and longer, so I was always a middle of the pack runner, which, I believe, stressed my knees less. I actually did quit with this schedule about five years ago and gained a lot of…

I have noticed this effect as well. I am much older, and drink only two times per week. Champagne mostly. The day after I drink I lose one or two lbs. I think it comes back though in a few days. I think I will stop for a while and see if what happens I lost 25 lbs without stopping, but can't seem to go past that point.…

You'll do some toning work with dumbells, but not much weight work. I am impressed that you are trying to do both. I would too if i had the stamina and time. Look forward to seeing your progress with this ambitious plan!

I am so impressed with your story, your pictures, and your positive attitude. I feel like I'm in the middle of my voyage (26 down, 30 to go), and I'm a little tired from all the exercise. I can see the finish line now though, and don't want to stop until I reach my goal. Your post really helps me feel like it may be a long…

I am so glad someone posted something on this. I weigh myself every morning after I go to the restroom and before I have anything to drink. I too have noticed fluctuations by as much as 4 lbs from day to day. I agree that it must be water weight, so I am trying to not weigh myself so often. Weird things seem to affect the…

I really like the new chocoate and Granola Thins. Technically they are diet food but not if you eat five of them. If I lose control have to run an extra mile. If I only buy one box a week, how I distribute them is up to me. Good post Carrie

Great NSV. Somehow being able to wear smaller clothes is one of the best NSV's out there. I have on a t-shirt that I couldn't even pull over my head before. Thanks for sharing, great motivation. 45 lbs is amazing.

Congratulations. 20 minutes straight makes you a real runner now. Look forward to hearing about W6!

One of my MFP friends turned me on to Lara Bars and I like them, especially the Lemon. As someone else already said they are all natural, with no chemicals of any kind. They keep well too, and I can see them especially helpful on a long run, bike ride or hike. Clif Bars are good too. I like the Oatmeal/raisin.

I don't know who this is from, but it made me laugh. "A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing."

My sleep is pretty delicately balanced. I can't work out after about 6 p.m. or I can't sleep at night. It's going to be difficult when day light savings time ends.
