I eat what I want, when I want it....in moderation!!! If I know I'm going to have a big dinner...I workout enough so that I will still be under my calories. If I had to eat "diet food" I would never make it!!! This website has really helped me understand how much I was or wasn't eating.

So true. I posted on my blog about this once and got someone trying to convince me that low-carb really was the one true way.

A lot of people seem to think that their way is the one true way and seem to take great pleasure in trying to enlighten the masses. As one of the masses, I'm doing just fine thank you very much lol

I absorb my nutrients from the air, like an epiphyte.

    bahahaha
  • i really like lettuce, and water.
  • I really like the new chocoate and Granola Thins. Technically they are diet food but not if you eat five of them. If I lose control have to run an extra mile. If I only buy one box a week, how I distribute them is up to me. Good post Carrie

I wonder sometimes what people think of my eating haha. I eat chocolate literally pretty much every day, and if it's not that it's something similarly "bad". It's been worse than usual the last few days since I'm on the road, but whatever. I had a pecan roll yesterday, ice cream today... I'll live.

Eventually i'd like to do something close to clean eating, but I believe in baby steps. For now I'm losing weight simply staying under my cals and it's challenging enough to stay under my cals, so that is my only real goal right now.

Well short answer would be, everything in moderation. :) Plan out your macros, and bottom line, calories in, calories out!

Diet food is too expensive... and a majority of the low-fat/fat-free versions of normal food have more calories cause they have more carbs! Not all, but a majority... just take a look next time you're grocery shopping. Keep in mind that the amount of macro nuts you consume will have an effect on metabolism, which in turn will indirectly lower or raise how many calories you burn a day. So there is something to be said for that... :p

Nothing wrong with soda or diet for that matter. I have like 5 sugar free hawaiian punch packets a day in my bottles of water :)

    Aspartame AHHHH

The difference in price between real sugar and splenda is HUGE. And really it's like 50 calories to add to my coffee.

We live in the real world and we can eat anything we want once we get the hang of amounts and our daily requirements. There are people who avoid carbs as much as they can began for some people it causes them to bloat Others can eat all the carbs they want :noway: without any problem. Same way with raw veggies, some peoples GI tract doesn't do well with them. Some people are allergic :to nuts. So, you take a month and try to get in the right eating mode and what's going to work for you, then after that you start thinking about adding in exercise--a liitle at a time. The one word a lot of us fatties have forgotten is moderation. Eat what you like, just in moderation, try adding in some new veggies. People are always putting some new recipes on MFP. Put everything you put in your mouth on your food diary and make it open to be viewed. People sometimes have ideas that you don't always think of. And if I have mine open for viewing it makes me think twice about what I'm eating. But, I record everything I eat, regardless. There's a new wk starting and that's always good time to organize our supplies and foods. Have a great wk!:drinker:

Food IS bad. It makes people fat. Bullets are also bad. They make people dead.

Wait, that's not right. People make food fat.
