I don't think it is a problem either. I remember talking to someone on MFP who went to bed because if they stayed up they would just eat. I thought I was the only one.

Sheesh, this looks great, but complicated for me to understand. The bottom line is the right numbers are going up and the right ones are coming down. You must be very excited with all of these positive results. Keep up the good work.

I just tried it and I can do it! (Barely). I want to be able to bend down and tie my shoes without sounding like someone is squeezing me. Another NSV goal I have is to be able to do this stretch that I see on my aerobics DVD. The instructor has you interlock your fingers and hold your arms out in front to stretch your…

I am older, but not dead yet. I think if the person has a reasonably nice face that's all that matters facially. However, looking at the whole picture I like to see a strong, toned, confident person with nice legs who knows how to dress to accent them. A nice skirt, pair of shorts, running apparel, nice colorful shoes,…

Yummm. I have got to try this. Thanks for sharing your creation with the rest of us.

That is amazing. I am so close to 200 that I can smell it. These milestones are so important to us. Congratulations.

I am much older than you (58) and I noticed I'm shrinking. I used to be 5'7" tall and now I'm 5'5". My mom (who is 85) has really shrunk. I was told I had osteopoenia (?sp), and I take calcium every day. Have to be rechecked. I was drinking only soy milk for a long time, and perhaps was low in Calcium. Shrinking seems to…

It takes an "aha" moment when it hits us that we need to so something about our weight. I read your post and could feel what you are saying. I remember last year going to a store and thinking I saw an old girlfriend. Same old hair, same outfit I had seen her in, and most importantly SAME FIGURE. I saw her from the back and…

It sounds like you are in pretty good shape, young and not too heavy. I am sure you can find some good max HR tables on runners world com or similar site. Not to introduce more questions for you than answers, check out your new HRM. I was really puzzled with weird numbers I was getting on my old dependable HRM. I had…

Friend request sent. Congrats on all the weight loss.

Happy 4th from me too. Put up my flag this morning and lots of other people did the same. It's kind of nice driving down the road and seeing all those flags.

My doctor recommended WW. My sister and brother started me on MFP. Inever did go to WW. I didn't realize it cost. I am also on the Hillian Michael's site, but don't use it as much as MFP. Will probably cancel my membership. The annual renewal came in and I think it was like $45. How much does WW charge?

I totally understand this feeling, although I have to go alone all the time now. My former running partner moved away and I don't really want to try to find someone else. I feel uncomfortable going to the Movies alone, although I see lots of older people sitting alone now. I think when I was younger it felt like I wasn't…

My wife has been really supportive of me. She used to run a weight loss program when she was in the Air Force, so she knows all the lingo. She bought a food scale, and writes out what we ate for dinner so I can log the calories. I think at first she was unhappy with how much time I spent with my face in the laptop before…

Good luck. I find if I know I may eat more later I cut way back at breakfast, lunch or dinner. If you take it easy you will be fine. Ride the wave of motivation you feel right now to move into the next week. You can do it.

Getting dumped really hurts, much more than breaking up. It is a blow to your self-esteem. However, you can feel good and look good, and put this behind you. Whether we eat when this happens to us, or drink alcohol, or whatever vice we engage in to compensate for our bad feelings, it all has to eventually stop. As someone…

I got very excited when reading this. I ran around looking at what old stuff I had. I would love to wear my old jeans. Sadly, that was one of the casualties of my weight gain. I was using special pants with a stretchy thing on my waist. Too bad I threw away my old Sergio Valente's (Remember Those?)! Thanks for the…

Look I put my arms up in the air. Did it work? LOL

It is so exciting to hear other's NSV's. I am getting close to where they will start happening. I do an exercise where I have to stretch my arms behind me. I can't do it yet, but it will be one way to tell when my girth decreases. I need to have a little one around to try and hug me. I will have to talk to my daughter…

Wow, thanks for sharing this. It reminds me of the old story of the infants in the housing projects chewing on curtains because they needed starch or something like that. Maybe I can try some of these.

Great Video, I bookmarked it. I didn't realize the guy was blind either. Wondered why they were tethered together.

All kinds of things can influence your weight loss or lack therof in a short period of time. I think MFP is a bit too liberal on the estimate of calories burned. I am going to figure out how to use my Heart Rate Monitor to get a better handle on actual calories burned. I think you should be happy that you've lost four. A…

Welcome. Even after you lose your 20 lbs. keep coming back for maintenance. This is such a warm and supportive place. I have only been here about 6 weeks or so. Very pretty Picture.

I have an exercise bike now, but I really miss my treadmill. I go through spurts of liking one or the other. I like to go to the gym where I can use either one or an elliptical. If you are walking a treadmill is nice b/c even with bad weather you can walk. I think I go longer on the bike.

I read with interest what you said. I used to do half-marathons, and remember how tough those last miles were. You really get into a zone where your mind transcends what you usually can contemplate. Keep up the good work.

It sounds good to me. To be honest I am having trouble figuring out how to do the buttons on my HRM. I hadn't used it for a couple of years, and forgot how to measure calories, get time, and certainly never to total calories. I think I can find the old Manual if I root around in my drawers. Like a previous poster I didn't…

Remind me again. What is an NSV?

I have just started using Almond Milk and so far have gone beyond the 7 days at least once. Just bought a larger container, so will find out if it goes bad or not. I tried soy milke and rice milk before and wasn't as satisfied with them on cereal. I will keep my eye on my Almond Milk for signs of spoiling. Great…

I got a Polar with a Calorie Counting feature. I love it. Be sure to send the monitor into an authorized Polar Repair place when it's time to replace the battery. Especially true if you use it in the pool.

I understand your concern. I would feel the same way. I would have to take it on faith and the experience of others before I could easily up my calories and still hope to lose weight. From what I read from people in the know we should up our calories when we exercise, and stay out of starvation mode. I think a person might…
