  • I wouldn't worry too very much the amount of weight you have lost at the dr's they take into consideration the clothing your wearing. I am up north and wear extras and snow boots weigh a lot. You should stick to your normal routine.
  • welcome back to the group. So your saying cause you have been pleated your not a sleever anymore? omg it sounds like a really good sci fy movie LOL
  • they have a liquid potassium, but it is oh so gross, it flavors everything for awhile. You could try a mortar and pestle and make jello shots (non alcoholic ones) use a strong flavored jello, have them set in and ice cube tray. 1 pill for every ice cube portion. I got sick every time I had to take my chewable vitamins, it…
  • 5 months for me, I think it might have slowed down some. The dermatologist recommended biotin, the follicles are not damaged just stressed out, she said she could see new growth. My solution at this point is, if I get a bald spot, I am shaving my head.
  • good luck to you during the holidays, I am also 6 mos out. I figure it might take me 5 meals to eat my favorites. I am very lucky in that my family and friends have been primed for my food proclivities, I have been a diabetic for 46 yrs. I guess the other part is that I have been primed to be very open about my health.…
  • I know my waist is smaller because some of my pants are falling off, bur I don't see it. I did feel my hip bone and I don't think I could before
  • typos are fine, your doing great especially since you had surgery this morning and I think you are probably a little loopy from pain meds. Great job on the laps. The more laps you do the better off you are in regards to the gassy feeling, the air works its way out. :D Welcome to the new future skinny you
  • cream OF ? soups were my go to food for the pureed portion, I tried cottage cheese and chicken broth protein powder .. I don't suggest it. it was just ewww
  • Isn't it wonderful... I went to the store and bought some 18's cause I threw all my old ones away, thinking I would never fit back into them
  • so glad you are home and doing good let us know how you progress
  • omg I lost an elephants' penis, I swear it was here a minute ago
  • I am 6 mos out, I am definitely not hitting calories goals, I am only eating 600-700 cals a day. 90 percent of that is protein, but it feels like I am eating all the time. The first 3 mos were the worse for me, my surgeon recommended pureed foods for 3 mos or cream of soups and protein shakes. I also found isopure to be…
  • My first reaction to your post was OMG, then I sat back and wondered if I would have had the perseverance to continue, and I would like to just smack your boss. It's the day after your surgery, I hope everything is going well for you this day. We will all be here for support when you need it and encouragement when you need…
  • My belly doesn't touch the steering wheel anymore, I can bend over and tie my shoes instead sitting sideways and pulling my legs up. Painting my own toenails is a weekly practice now, since I can see them. And I walked 2.2 miles for the first time in 15 yrs.
  • it could also be muscle gain and fat loss, muscle is heavier, but you guys probably knew that. I am 6 mos out and have lost 60 lbs so far, I have just restarted peritoneal dialysis which adds 400 empty calories a day. Everything stalled for a month when I restarted, but it has started to come off again. YAY
  • we found some recipes on the 21 day fix, the best so far is egg "muffins" made with cooked chicken breakfast sausage, onions, zucchini and cheese. oh sorry these are made with egg whites and baked at 350 for 20 to 25 minutes. You can make 12 or more at a time and eat them through out the day or just for a quick breakfast.…
  • hug!!!! you are doing just fine. I wouldn't worry so much about calorie intake, but more about fat grams, protein grams and sodium. More protein to build muscles and not lose what you already have, less fat grams and watch your sodium intake, fluid retention is a killer for weight gain. There is a new study out that says…
  • I am 16 days out, and have lost 20 pounds so far, so despite hating hemodialysis this was one of the best decisions I have ever made. ohhh cripes, btw I was on dialysis at home prior to surgery it was not caused by the surgery. Your going to do fine.
  • I had mine a week ago today, and got out of the hospital on Saturday. But I have other issues, diabetes and dialysis, so icu for a few days, I felt pretty solid on Monday, Good luck to you keep us informed
  • ooops sorry I re read your post and my reply looks like I ignored everything you said. I think the vit pills they want you to take have some iron in them, but I am not sure how much. Mine were kind of expensive about 24.00 for one month. They are bariatric chewable vitamins by a company called Fusion.
  • post op is going to be 60-80 gms of protein a day, but less red meat. you could try spinach I know that has a lot of iron in it and pretty sure it has more if you cook it, you could do a search on iron rich foods to raise it naturally. And not ruin any of your diet plans
  • good luck to you on your journey, I am 9 days pre op, in my last info class they said to always look at the positive parts that happen along the way, like your belly not hitting the steering wheel when you drive, or being able to tie your shoes with out extra maneuvering. I think looking forward to the short term…
  • hi my name is Jeanne, I am 52 and 10 days pre-op, I have 120 pounds I would like to lose. and like a few of you I have some contributing factors, I have been a type 1 diabetic for 46 years, I am also on peritoneal dialysis which adds about 1000 empty calories daily, I will be on hemo dialysis for about 3 to 4 months after…
