  • Wow, that is genius :) Good job!
  • Wow, thank you for all of the replies!! I have 3 little ones, and it has been so hard for me to lose weight while breastfeeding. My younger 2 are closer in age and I never even weaned the middle child until I was well along in my pregnancy with the youngest, lol... so NO weight loss there. Now I'm ready to do it! Thanks…
  • I've done the 'extreme couponing' thing. I haven't kept up with it lately though... because yeah~you can't get a lot of quality foods. I stocked up on canned beans, tomatoes, veggies, etc. and we won't have to buy toothbrushes, toothpaste or floss for years to come lol. There are lots of opportunities for cheap/free candy…
  • I love seeing other 'extended breastfeeders'! I like your avitar picture too... I've wrapped up my kiddos the same way, although now I use the Ergo more than the other wraps.
  • I'm nursing my 2 year old and add it under snacks~ 'breasfeeding older child'. He nurses sometimes 4-5 times daily still. So far, so good... I wasn't able to lose any pregnancy weight (except an initial 10 lbs, lol) but have lost 15 lbs since starting MFP. I think if DS starts nursing less or I hit a plateau I'll stop…
  • I was just thinking about this today... I lose in my butt, hips and legs first, last to go is the tummy. The women in my family are built like barrels, lol. Scrawny legs and no butt :( Can I blame genetics a little? ;)
  • I put my starting weight as my post partum weight... What I weighed a week or so after giving birth. BUT, I stayed that weight for months. I lost about 10 pounds after each child was born, and stayed heavy for a long time afterwards. I did breastfeed too (still do :)) My youngest is a toddler and before starting MFP, I…
  • I make my own flour tortillas. I have the recipe down to a science :) They are 100 calories each, and are about 8 inches in diameter. You can't beat homemade! After I started making these I don't eat store-bought unless I'm desperate, lol.
  • Hi! Welcome to MFP. I'm somewhat new too, and also from FL. You've done a great job so far!
  • Just checking back in... My scale is broke, lol. It said that I lost 20 pounds last week haha! I know I didn't so~blah. I guess I'll have to buy a new one... I have always had a love/hate relationship with my scale, so it'll be hard to go out and spend money on one :/ I didn't do my elliptical excersize today (supposed to…
  • Thanks! My oldest was b'fed for 18 months, my middle child 2 1/2 years and 2 years so far for the youngest :) Not a drop of formula. Of course, my body hangs onto weight while nursing so, it is very hard to lose weight. I know, it's the other way around for most moms though, lol.
  • Super! Thank you for the info :) My son is 2 years old. He eats lots of other foods and I don't have issues with my supply, but I'll log it as a snack as was suggested :) Thanks again!
  • Too late to join?? I'm a SAHM of 3 kids and would like to lose 50 lbs. I just started MFP last week. I have good days and bad days. Today was aweful... ate crap and ran around all day with no time for excersize. I hate to miss a day, seems to go downhill after that. Here's to tomorrow! (heck, it's already tomorrow, lol.…
  • I'm only on level 5, it goes up to 12 I think. I'm increasing slowly... I'll try a higher level tomorrow, but I know right now it is difficult, i can feel it. I do enter my weight, but no pace to enter age...
  • Thank you :) That is what I've heard also. It is hard for me now, seeing as I've just started I guess, but I hope I'll gradually be able to increase my calorie loss as I do it more often. It is not easy for me, my legs burn and my body feels it~at least while I am on the machine.
  • Thanks! I watch a show on Netflix to keep me going :) I wonder if I'm burning as much on the elliptical... I heard somewhere that it is 'pie-excersize', that it really doesn't do too much for you. I'm never really sore afterwards, just sweaty and tired! The monitor reads that I've burned 400-500 calories, the excersize log…
  • I find that if I have something to do while I do it, that helps. I watched the 1st episode of Lost (yes I am the only one who hasn't seen it!) lol. That was 48 minutes, plus warmup and cool down... a whole hour! Phew... and I get to do it again tomorrow too.
  • Thank you all! I'll have to see how to go about adding friends... would love to share this experience with a few others. It seems easier that way :D
