  • Last week, I got a diagnosis of type 1 diabetes. It was completely out of the blue... Over the past 15 months I've lost 60 lbs (I'm at a healthy weight of 140 now) and I've been running and weight training for almost a year. So, we don't know why I have it, other than having a family history of diabetes. They are now…
  • I'm the same height. I started at 200lbs, now I'm at 160. My goal is 135-140. You look great though, when I was at 179, I didn't look as good as you. I'm probably more critical of myself than others are though. I'm also 'Apple shaped' ugh. Lol.
  • I'll be 40 in December this year, and I'm almost to my goal!
  • *following*
  • I waqtched all 6 seasons of LOST while using my elliptical machine, and now I'm watching Grey's Anatomy. I've heard Mad Men is good also.
  • Those are all good! Here's what I do... I brush my teeth. After every meal. That way anything more will taste yucky, lol. Whatever works, right?
  • I have 3 children. The 1st was born vaginally with some medical inetrventions in the hospital. The 2nd and 3rd were born at home with certified midwives and birth attendants. Each experience was unique and wonderful :flowerforyou: *edited to add~about those love hormones?? They are very real and the most incredible…
  • Thanks for posting this! I weigh everyday too, but I only log when I lose. So some times I'm logging twice a week, some times I go a few weeks withut logging :noway: I don't sweat it when it fluctuates...
  • Some days I'm unable to get online so I log in my notebook... just because my virtual diary is empty doesn't mean I "blew it". Not sure about other people though.
  • Having 3 little ones who do not like veggies (boo) I have found that zuccini is a great vegetable to hide! It has a mild flavor, so if I have an abundance of it I can puree it into tomato sauce, finely chop it into dips and salsas etc. I love it raw or steamed. Sauteed with a little seasoning and a splash of soy sauce or…
  • I still like all of the things that I liked before MFP... just smaller portions
  • This is interesting because I have had this happen too... after more strenuous workouts. I never thought too much of it, but at times it was really bothersome. I'll be watching this thread to see the replies.
  • This sounds yummy... do you know if it can be baked in a real oven as opposed to the micro?
  • I'm there with you... I can run 5-6 miles on the elliptical, but can't for-the-life-of-me run outside for more than one minute (barely one minute!). I'm chalking it up to the heat and humidity, and I'm trying not to get discouraged. You are doing the right thing though! Just keep at it, and try to stay positive! You will…
  • My problem is my belly... Blah! I wouldn't mind having a bigger butt, lol
  • Single digits?! I can't even imagine! Oh, NSV~Non Scale Victory
  • Hi! I'm in SW FL. I just started the C25K and I'm not doing well at all!! I can do 5-6 miles on the elliptical inside, but running outside has me dripping and falling over after 1/2 a mile. Bummer... I'm trying to acclimate myself to the heat. Any tips from seasoned tropical runners?? I've lost 20 lbs so far, but need to…
  • I've heard of it! I'm a bit south of you, in Charlotte county.
  • Hi! I'm new to running and just started the C25K program. I run on the elliptical though~average of 3-4 miles a day. It's easier on my knees  I am looking forward to becoming more proficient at running outside though, and doing a 5K later this year! May I add you as a friend?
  • Thank you for all of the replies! I'll admit... I'm afraid of coming in last. I'm sure that even if I do though, I'll still be able to say that I ran a 5K!
  • Thanks for the replies! I'm so excited at the prospect of being able to run. I never thought I'd be able to... so far I'm not doing super, lol. BUT I'm staying positive because I've heard wonderful things from others who've done the program. I can run 4 miles in 50 minutes on the elliptical, but running in the real world…
  • Good idea! I do 50-60 minutes daily on the ellip. Once in a great while I'll do double that (I watch a show on the laptop and if it's a cliff-hanger I'll watch the next one too  ) I'll give it a try tomorrow, outside and see how I fare.
  • Thanks for the suggestions! New shoes are on the list, as money allows lol. I'm starting day one tomorrow. Wish me luck... ;D
  • I've struggled with my weight for years now, and have been on MFP for a few months now. I've lost almost 20lbs and feel better than ever... I try hard not to judge others based upon seeing a minute or two of their lives. You will just never know why that lady was eating pizza at 8am, or why she had a hard time walking. You…
  • Thanks for the suggestions! I was putting breastfeeding as a snack, but I'm adding it as an excersise this week instead :) I like the hummus recipe! I love beans... I take lots of vitamins already, including extra b complex, c, calcium and magnesium as well as fish oil and a few greenies. I'm not sure how to change the…
  • Oh, yeah. Some days I'll watch 2 episodes. I'm so glad it goes on for several more seasons!
  • Oh, I don't know...? I always thought fat was good too, as long as it's good fat lol. I would like to keep it in the green though. I don't mind getting close, but would love more low-fat snacks. It seems like a lot of protein sources are higher fat too. Some that is.
  • Yes! I love that stuff. I was eating yogurt everyday there for awhile...
  • I'm almost to the end of season one and I'm loving it! Oh, and I fit into my old jeans today too. Bonus... :D
