  • Try it and see how you go. Everyone will have different results, many factors involved. I would recommend obviously focus on being accurate when logging the foods and ensure your still hitting your protein and fat macros. Depending on your current weight and body fat%, if your not eating enough protein as you loose weight,…
  • need more information, whats ure calorie budget?
  • I've seen alot of examples of people eating alot of "Healthy Foods" but still not loosing weight, unsure if this applies to you or not, but sharing incase it helps. Just because a food is "Healthy" if they provide more energy (calories) than your body will burn during the day you will gain fat. While a balanced diet has…
  • Thought i would share the below video, from two Auzzie guys, Rohan and Alex. http://youtu.be/uzGD-kGxlbo They also have a great TDEE calculator, it takes into consideration not just fat loss but muscle and water loss which i don't see very often, so great tool.…
  • Agreed, they may not be accurate, but if you keep using the same ones you should see more accurate results in terms of whats lost. They work my measuring electrical resistance in your body, (i may not be correct) but i have always thought, if your dehydrated or such, then this would skew the results. Callipers are the best…
  • The key is to keep trying things, one method may not work well for you, but may be perfect for others. Great job on your losses so far.
  • Thanks for the feedback, i'm happy i was able to give something back to the community.
  • I know right? I was told for years by Parents, Friends, evan Opera. All said, "Breakfast was the most important meal of the day, its what kick starts your metabolism" - "You need to feed your body frequently or your metabolism will slow down" etc etc etc. I think alot of these myths have been with people for so long, its…
  • you hit nail on the head "doesnt slow down enough to make a difference". I made a post midway up this page that explains my view abit better Had a few questions recently, happy to help, but in regards to diets. I would suggest to try a few styles and see what works for you. There is no one perfect diet for everyone.
  • I know were your coming from. The problem is with the use of the term Starvation mode, i got so frustrated one day that i decided to dedicate time to understanding it. Basically the common use of the term "Starvation mode" means two things Your metabolic rate slowing - even by one calorie over a 24 hour period. This is…
  • Best way to gauge results in my opinion is the mirror or comparing photos. Yes i do alter my calorie goals every few months. As you loose weight i think you have to or you will plateau.
  • Its so true, i was so apposed to intermittent fasting for ages. I kept hearing about it, and i kept buying into this starvation mode myth. Being a shift worker, and trying to fit the gym in also, i was spending all my free time making and prepping my 6 small meals. Now i only have to worry about 3 meals, wish i did 12…
  • Thank you for the feedback all, much appreciated
  • From my understanding, tearing the muscle no matter the route, works? Seems wrong. Hormones is what causes the muscles to grow. Doing heavy weight with around the standard 8 reps to failure triggers hormones that will increase your muscle mass growth. However with high reps you will not produce the same hormones, but as a…
  • Chicken Breast and Egg whites are the two best and natural forms of protien that i find easy to work into diet if your struggling.

  • Your body burns more calories processing protein over carbs. Also if your eating protein regularly (every 3 hours or so) your body's metabolic rate will increase.
  • Its a hard question to answer without more information. How many meals do you eat a day? How many of these meals do you want replaced by the shakes? Which meals do you plan to replace (brekky, lunch etc)? Whats your calorie budget for these meals? Whats your daily calorie budget? Guessing all you want is a high protien…
  • Agree with Monty, another thing to think about, try ahve your complex carbs in morning and lunch, then have high protien and low carb meals in evening/dinner. IN all honesty tho, if your have no problems with hunger/low energy/cravings then just keep doing what your doing so long as ure under your calorie goal.
  • I personally do not take vitamin / oil / tabletsas i get enough from my normal diet, i need protein suppliments though. I think the problem is a lot of people buy them wastefully thinking they are "healthy", they are only beneficial - as with any supplement, if they are actually supplying a deficiency in someone’s diet.…
  • Its very hard to get the protien goals without including them into a diet. You need 1.6g to 2g of Protien per kg body weight roughly, if your attempting to build muscle (guys) So for example, if you were 100kg, u would need about 160-200g of protein a day. Protien suppliments allow people to get the protein without the…
  • Yes i hope so, i will have to keep a good eye on my measurements weekly to see my progress, just really nevous having so many calories.
  • 29 Yr old Guy from Perth WA, WIll accept all invites, social aspect of this site has helped me alot in the past 15months. Always looking for motorvation and enjoy seeing other people progress and seeing how they do it. My current goals are increasing muscle mass. • I'm assuming you have a Ectomorph body type, unfortuantly i'm a Endomorph which is why my personal trainer put me on 2500 calories atm. I think i might of infulenced the decision also as i'm so hesitiant to eat more after so long of having a very restrictive calorie budget. But i guess it may increase as i build more…
  • @ElizaDnl - Thanks, and i basically did it by never going over 1800 calories. I counted everything from milk in my coffee, i did not stop eating any foods that i enjoyed, i just had smaller portions. I also am a shift worker, i work 2pm to 10pm, so all this was also done on take away food, i mainly had curries such as lamb…
