Awesome!!!! I think the last time I fit into a size 12 was when I was about 20 and weighed 125 or 130. that was like half of me ago. I still have one single piece of clothing from then, it's a beautiful simple turqois dress with a beautiful woven neckline. As a sewer, I couldn't bear to let it go, thinking it might be…

Those who love you are not fooled by mistakes you have made or dark images you hold about yourself. They remember your beauty when you feel ugly, your wholeness when you are broken, your innocence when you feel guilty, and your purpose when you are confused. -African saying

Excercising with pets around is a blessing and frustration at the same time. When I do yoga, my pets insist that if my hands are out, they be petting their fur. If my hands are busy, they may lick my face , knowing i can't fend them off! But I figure laughing with them just burns more calories! Merde was my first swear…

Just got a call that my A1c is down to 5.9. It hasn't been that low in several years. the diabetic spiral may be unwinding. By the way, I just keep tightening my belt, and I wore a skirt to the dr office, so the clothing weight would be similar to what it was for the summer visit. It may have even been the same skirt and…

Still preparing for our thanksgiving. We decided to have it on Sunday. We are calling it a Gratitude Dinner. "Just a few friends," we said, "we have a dozen folding chairs, so we can invite up to 10 friends", we said. 30 folding chairs rented, borrowing 3 more tables, cooking 2 turkeys and 2 half hams moving livingroom…

I've never tried snow boarding. I used to cross country ski, very easy trails. I went downhilling a few times in high school. I'm sure I was great entertainment for some folks. First time off the lift, dropped my pole. Got it back, went down the hill, steered toward the right where there were fewer people for me to run…

these are wise words. There have been a lot of wise words, and some not so wise on this thread. We each have our own relationship with food. we also each have our own relationships with our partners. for me, my partner brings home pizza, which is her splurge of choice. We now have a compromise most of the time of getting…

So, basically your challenge is to stay present? I like it.

My pants are falling down and my boobs look smaller. Not sure if this is a complaint or a brag! :D

This was a great one, but for me wasn't a big deal this year for two reasons 1) we don't get any trick or treaters. I live in a neighborhood with old people and in the city of Flint, people are afraid to let their kids trick or treat on the streets, so we didn't buy any. If we had gotten trick or treaters, they would have…

Ecactly! Right before leaving for work tonight, i had to yell at Pandora, the black one because I caught her eating my bedding. I have large holes that i keep repairing. She looks so darn cute, drives me crazy! Oh, yeah, and yesterday I had to get a dead goldfinch from her. Sky, the white dog, wanted me to give it to her.…

They taste closer to garlic. I've only ever nibbled a leaf though. they do normally grow in forests. I transplanted some from the woods by my sister's house, which she transplanted from the woods from her cabin up north. I would eventually like to plant an edible forest in my back yard, and these are part of that. We…

Mourning in Michigan today. The appeals court ruled against us. I'm headed to the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Flint to regroup, party and plan the next step. If you are in the area, come on over.

Hints: the photo is from early spring. This plant does not flower. It has two different common names. There is a big festival somewhere dedicated to only these (can't remember where). They taste kind of like garlic or onion. They are very rarely grown as a crop and at risk of over harvesting.

Here is another. they grow in the woods and are not lillies of the valley, even though in this picture their leaves look the same. I actually have a very limited number of these that I transplanted to my yard. If you have a favorite way to fix them, let me know. I haven't made anything with them yet. I wanted to get them…

I'll have to try it :)
