Count me in for having a bad weekend. Drank way too much on Sunday night, skipped my workout Monday and Tuesday, and now I'm trying to play catch-up, which I hate. Doing alright today though - at least I got my lifting in.
-
I skipped last week because I strained something in my back, got back to it Friday and promptly skipped Monday - great start to the month, sigh. Deloaded on everything because of the break. Squats: 5x5x75, but form didn't feel great. I wish I could get this right - I've been lifting since May and I feel like I've gone…

Back to posting in the check in thread after forgetting for a couple weeks... only to report that I skipped my workout today (achey legs ugh). Hopefully I will have something more interesting to say Wednesday

Go back to posting in the workout thread! I think I've forgotten for two weeks now.... Mainly I want to work on form, especially on squats and deadlifts. I'm weirdly able to bench more than I squat now (damn cavey knees) Want to bump all lifts up by 10 lbs as well (well, maybe except OHP)... I want that 100 on squats!

Running day for me - two 8 minute intervals and nailed them on the first try :) Met goal as well. This week's averages are going to be up thanks to eating maintenance half the week, so I didn't log my weigh in, but I was only up half a pound.
-
If it helps, I find that if I weigh in (usually at 7 am) on a day after I worked closing and had dinner at 10 pm I always weigh more than if I ate at 7pm.... hopefully tomorrow will be good for you :)

So much better - on the lower calories I slipped up more often, completely obliterating my deficit in the process, and I didn't see much progress. I also found myself thinking about food slightly obsessively, which I don't think is good. Now I'm seeing steady (if slow) progress and rarely want to binge. It's not as if I…

Well I didn't realize how hot it was until I was already out, otherwise I might have wimped out. Did well today though in the cooler weather - actually didn't hear the prompt to stop running the last interval and made it another minute or so until I realized I could stop :) also I flipped through my running log and I just…

Hi lambie! I definitely know what you mean about "sticking" - up until a couple weeks ago I always bounced between exactly 131.5 and 128.5, with an occasional 130. I was using TDEE for a while using an online estimate, which told me 1500 gross cals/day, but it wasn't working for me (both in that I didn't see any consistent…

Kiwi - Sorry to hear about your little one. I hope she is feeling better soon :flowerforyou: Gen - not to mention, a good excuse to get a massage :) It was weird not doing lifting today, especially since I didn't work either - so even though I ate at maintenance I didn't actually get to eat more. I think I'm going to do…

Nope, it's flat flat flat. One of my problems is that I have short little legs so I'm a little shuffly anyways, and when I run properly, picking my feet up and leading with the chest, I end up going faster. It feels more natural this way so I think I'll just stick with it. I know the feeling - like all your hard work has…

Kiwi - that's awesome! Congratulations :) Dana - yeah I'm really excited for wicking - I've been wearing cheap cotton blend athletic stuff from Walmart and similar places and I'm always so sweaty and gross. Running time: holy! I thought I was as slow as a turtle, but I guess that's why it's taking me so long to progress…

Ashley - impressive pushups! As for low carb bread, I know it exists but no idea where to get it. I usually aim to hit protein goal first, which then naturally gets me to my fats goal, then just go to town on whatever - that usually gives me a pretty good balance. Kiwi - probably just have to give it a while to settle at…

Thanks guys :) It's weird how that one half pound feels like such a hurdle - but now that I've gotten there I feel like I might actually make it. Now trying to decide whether to go for a run right away in case it starts raining earlier than expected or have breakfast and go later, because for some reason I woke up STARVING…

Hi, welcome to the group! :) I'm also "not fat, but heavier than I used to be" - we can definitely do it!
-
Dana - I agree with Gen - if you're hungry you're hungry, and it's probably better to eat than drive yourself crazy trying to stay under once in a while. Hope the rest of the week goes better for you :) Gen - mmm, burger and fries sounds amazing Yesterday I ran Week 4 again - made the whole thing for the second time, yay!…

Nice job on the 5k, Gen! Glad it went well - definitely a reason for beer and popcorn :) Forgot to check in over the weekend, but I was good. Did my run Sunday instead, today did my lifting and went for a walk. After a short shift tomorrow I'm off work until the weekend so I'll have to be good and do some walking.

Oh you poor people who have lived without eating poutine  Ashley, that's so cool - it will be good to know exactly what your dealing with. I've been flirting with the idea of getting a rough bf % estimate over in Eat, Train, Progress but also don't really want to post underwear selfies on the internet.. Kiwi, I'm…

@Ashley, I hear Nova Scotia's beautiful - haven't managed to get out there yet but I'd love to! @Gen, Definitely! I lived by the canal for nearly four years and I really regret not getting in to running while it was right there. Ah well. Also, poutine is the greatest! @Kiwi, enjoy your treat day! Good day again yesterday,…

@Gen, up until six months ago I was in Ottawa! Sadly no longer thanks to uni loan repayment, but I'd love to move back someday :) Tried to go for my run during a break in the rain this morning, but it started up again after about 5 minutes - the cold, soaking kind too, not the nice refreshing kind. It did motivate me to do…

Sounds like everyone's doing pretty well! I'm in Ontario, Canada That is tough. I know how you feel - I moved back in with my parents about 6 months ago and my dad drives me crazy because he really underestimates amounts and always puts loads of oil etc. in. He's working in the city now so I get to do my own cooking 5 days…

Welcome b4wed! Awesome job so far!

Hi Ashley! Welcome!
-
Gen, I agree with Dana - probably just temporary. I know when I go up it always takes a couple days to go down again. Dana, sorry to hear your day didn't go well yesterday. Hope the rain holds off for you! So.... I made it! Finally got week 4 down - ran all the intervals of 3,5,3,5 minutes. On my last five I was just at…

Congratulations Kiwi! Pretty good day for me. Did my lifting, met goal, and had an ice cream cone. That's it for sweets for me this week - making another pie Friday (summer fruit, whyyyy are you going to be gone soon?) and I'm trying to only do sweets once or twice a week.
-
That's great, congratulations! I do the same thing with a big loss - you feel like you can relax a bit once you clear that big hurdle. P.S. honestly, I'm not that upset about the workout/pie - it was just the last straw after a long week and I needed to vent a bit. Back on the horse now :)
-
Thanks Kiwi :) I restart my weeks on Sundays luckily, so I'm just putting it out of my mind.
-
Update - ended up up only about 250 over, so maintenance. And in a much better mood now - sorry for all the whinging and moaning earlier :) but that's what the internet's for, eh?
-
Gen, Good luck! Kiwi, nice job! Dana, I do find it useful - mainly because I am awful at estimating my activity Early post today just to rant, so feel free to skim over if you're not into whining :) I just really feel the need to complain right now. I'm just in a really awful mood - I missed yesterday's workout and now it…

Oh, definitely an easy jog - I saw it mentioned on the C25K board to go at a pace where you can still breathe only through the nose, and that trick seems to be working. I always eat my exercise calories too - if I didn't I'd be living on nothing! Actually I'm not sure I could force myself not to... when I see upwards of 50…
